This is easily the dumbest CEO move I've ever seen.

You lay off 35 employees and justify it with a comparison to your historic rival?

Why not a study of peer institutions on the ratio of athletes to staff? Admin costs per athlete?

Everyone on that staff now hates him.

Is Del Conte an A&M plant?

I always thought UT could buy and sell A&M. Are you saying Little Brother is the successful one?

When pressed about the trophy’s earned to corroborate A&M’s past decade, you answered with this:
quote:

Our record is better than yours over the past ten years.
That literally tells us everything we need to know. As flattering as it is to be your measuring stick, we wish you creeps would go bother someone else.

Yes they were originally going to be part of the same system in the original Constitution but they quickly changed that to going with 2 Flagships. A&M was never part of UT after Austin opened in 1883 (A&M had opened in 1876). Essentially the original Constitution was focused on having them use the Morrill Land Grant Act to open 2 Universities and they granted a bunch of land to do it.

So you agree? The "older" argument (which is already sad considering it's 7 years of two institutions almost 150 years old lol) is just a lame duck argument.

It's also not like Texas is much harder to get in to than A&M. It's literally Top 10 percent vs Top 6 percent for auto admit to both schools. Holistic admission is very similar.

Texas acceptance rate: 38.5%

Texas a&m acceptance rate: 57.8%

A&M counts provisional admits in that number. More importantly objectively it's not much more difficult to get into Texas than A&M. My son is a HS Senior and I can see it talking to his peers and looking at the admission standards. Most kids that can get into A&M can also get into Texas.

As for the older argument A&M was founded in 1876 and Texas in 1883. A&M is older. They were both formed under the same part of the Texas Constitution and they are both Morrill Land Grant schools. A&M did open its doors first and was a school 7 years prior to Texas. Both schools have endless logos and gear with the dates on thsm.
