The LT position is definitely a toss up but I'm more comfortable in that than I am at QB. Honestly, the QB is so up in the air it's hard to tell who is gonna be the first guy to start I believe they will go with a run heavy offense for the first few games and try to acclimate the QB more as the season goes on. I feel it's gonna be a lot of play action passes for the first 5 games before we truly go to a more balanced offense.
Have many so called experts predict Milroe will start the season as a safe bet because of experience but that Simpson will end up being the man.

LSU:
Offense - The OC. Personnel-wise this is probably the most talented and deepest unit since 2019 (though this group isn't as good as that one). Denbrock's offense last sesason wasn't particularly creative and didn't really do much to fool a lot of defenses. He said recently LSU offensive playcalling was more in "survival mode" last season because of so many things being "new" in year one. New QB. Very inexperienced OL. Basically one TE...who was a true freshman. Hopefully that is accurate because there is no reason this offense shouldn't be really good this season.
Defense - The secondary and depth. Once again LSU is going to have two new (transfer) CBs starting. Last season both guys there performed well. But just as importantly they stayed healthy (for the most part) where LSU was very thin. That is the same situation this year. As the safety spot LSU has a few guys who are solid. But none are game-changers. In the front 7 the starters should be really good. The concern is if injuries start to pile up. Particularly at LB because there is a HUGE drop-off from the 1st unit to the second unit.
Kelly has done a good job at rebuilding the frontlines quickly, but LSU is still probably a year away from having decent depth

Offense: how will our Qb perform, especially in the 2nd half.
Defense: how will our Qb perform, especially in the 2nd half.
Have I mentioned our QB?

Offense: scoring more points than the other team for 15 straight games.
Defense: holding each other team to fewer points than ours.

Wrong, Hooker was the day one starter last year. It was the 21 season that Joe started a couple games and got hurt and that’s when Hooker got his chance. Hooker played well and no need to go back to Milton at the time. Tom Brady got his shot because of injury and never gave it back. Milton threw 10TD’s and 0 interceptions while completing 64.6 % of his passes last year. Since 2021 he has a 12-0 TD to int ratio. Who else in the country has that?

Offense: O-line and play-calling. More of an unknown on both.
Defense: Safeties and getting carved up by accurate QBs

Let's try that then. Tell us something about this team that we can expect to see vs Florida State.
You know, actual college football.

Are you still gathering your thoughts? Tell us why we should believe in this season's LSU to beat a damn good Florida State team.

Safeties and TEs, we also are depending on freshmen for depth a lot which is never great for the now but will be for future development.

Kicker. In earlier rent a win games, I would actually be fine if offense stalls some drives sort of on purpose when up late for kicker(s) to get experience under less nerve-wracking situations.

Offense: Can Milton be as elusive as Hooker was when the pocket collapses, turning busted plays into big yards.
Defense: Will the DBacks improve (really, it can't get worse).

Yeah, a lot of casual fans keep saying this. People who pay attention know that Hooker was the QB for most of 21 and all of 22 (until he got injured).

I’ve heard your LT is suspect.
Think they wanted to go with Pritchett but he looked overmatched at A-Day.
I think Proctor the TF 5* from Iowa will end up with the job.
As long as one of them are functional the OL on paper is better than it’s been since 2020.

This means they are just guessing. Nobody knows and Saban hasn't said.
As far as the question, offensive line and DB's. Both were basically useless last year and downright confused. Never saw a Saban team that unprepared. Can't lead the SEC in dropped passes either.

On offense for lsu it’s runningback. We have 8 guys on the roster, but none of them have taken control of the position
On defense it’s the corner position. The starting spots seemed to be locked up with a third rotating guy showing glimpses. Depth will be an issue with JK Johnson going down indefinitely and Denver Harris looking like not being available.

OP's already got it.

Aggies just lost their TE.

The trouble is they are both starters. And Proctor is a freak of nature in the same mode as Cam Robinson. When you have a very good player, with a ton of experience, vs a true freshman phenom, you get this situation also.

You seem angry for no reason and nothing I say will convince you, but I will try.
LSU's strength is through the middle this year to include offensive line and the front seven on defense. The LSU offense will be able to pick the score this year and will be balanced and electric. Our problem will be the secondary and it won't be easy against Travis in our debut game. Difference in this game compared to last year will be depth and special teams. Anderson is going to be special for us

I think when it all settles out Proctor will be at LT and Pritchett will have to battle it out at G or wait to replace Latham next year at T.
Could’ve been just a bad day or maybe he was dinged, but he looked completely lost at A-Day.
