Why would any coach want to go to Auburn?

Tuberville- 75 wins over 9 seasons including an SEC Championship and undefeated season.

Fired after a single 5-7 campaign.

Chizik- 30 wins over 3 years including one undefeated season, one SEC Championship, and one natty.

Then, fired after a single 3-9 campaign.

Mahlzahn- 62 wins over 7 seasons including an SEC, a natty appearance…

Then, fired after a 6-5 during the COVID season.

Auburn fans, your program has no loyalty. Your program has become a victim of the Wall Street mentality of “earnings this quarter, next year be damned.”

All great coaches have a long term vision. Sometimes, the long term vision means sacrifice in the here and now. You have made it clear that you don’t allow for that. Great coaches care more about legacy than dollars. Great coaches will not sacrifice their careers and their legacy to go to Auburn.

Auburn = historically good football school weighed down by internal politics.

The ceiling at Ole Miss is 9-10 wins.

The ceiling at Auburn is undefeated.

Why don’t we revisit how and when Ole Miss fired David Cutcliffe? Glass houses, bud

Having your coach poached or getting fired for calling hookers on the university cell are not even close to the same thing.

The only questionable firing we made was Cutcliffe. That was basically it. The rest either left of their own accord or they had poor performance over multiple years.

The Barn is a train wreck that has caused me much laughter as a Bama fan over the years, but what’s that old line about glass houses?

Auburn only exists to beat Bama, not win championships. Take Bama off their schedule and they have no reason to exist.

AU football is down right now, and may, in fact, get "buried" one day. You're correct in that assumption. But, when, or if, that happens, I can assure you that Ole Miss will have nothing do do with it.

And over that time period, Ole Miss has had the exact same number of coaches. And that's including Caddy.

I agree with you on that one. Thing is, we made the mistake and learned from it. At AU, it’s become just the way things are.

Do you not think the word on the street amongst coaches is out?

What about firing one a year removed from a 10-3 season and your school’s only co-division title?

Did you? What happened with Houston Nutt?
