I watched as a student when Maine beat us. We then went on to lose 3 more games after with UAB beating us as well.

The FLA game was a noon game and I didn't want to bake in the sun in the bleachers we had in the end zone figuring FLA would just blow us away. Tuned into game around half time and saw we had a fighting chance of winning, but given our previous play didn't think we would pull it off.

Missed storming the field that day because I didn't go to the game.

This team has no chance in hell of beating FLA. Croom sucked but he had defense. We have no defense.

Florida will mop the floor us just with the talent they have vs us.

Mike Leach seemed to always have the team prepared for games though.

I'm questioning our coaching hire base on player effort and lack of preparation. We have some good paid mercenaries on offense but I bet they bail after this season.

I thought hiring a coordinator as a first time HC and a DC that's never been a DC before a mistake.

We're an SEC school and should be able to hire proven coaches.

What I'm seeing on the field is a complete lack of effort from the players.

In the Croom years we sucked but the players did their best just got out talented by the other team.

Lebby has 3 years to figure it out and right now I'd replace the entire defensive staff.

It's embarrassing I see G5 teams that look better coached and players that perform better than what we have.

I was at the Maine game as a student.

What stood out to me was Maine must have taken the bare minimum of players to the game. Because when you looked at their sideline there was so much space between everyone you could clearly see the cover over the grass on their sideline. During normal games there's too many players/staff you couldn't see that.

And they still got an SEC win that day.

I liked the 3-2 game. I like defensive slugfests. You just felt like if you could just get one good play into field goal range you'd win the game.
I think he stated he wanted to get out of Florida to play football.

We're glad to have him and with NIL these days if you have players like him or Seth Davis you play them if they can contribute.

Mississippi has more players in the NFL per capa than any other state. MSU ranks pretty high on the numbers of players it sends to the NFL.

MSU has beaten ACC teams. Most recently NC State twice. Once in a bowl game and during regular season.

Florida was stupid to fire Mullen.

He may not recruit well but he was really good at developing 3 star players to the 4 and 5 stars.

That was his formula at MSU.

He likes the ESPN job now though. Doubtful he coaches again after his Florida buyout money.
They think because we lost our head coach we're going to suck this year.

Arnett did something phenomenal with the defense we had in Mike Leach's first year. He's a dang good coach and I'm glad he's now the head coach.

I think our new OC is going to do well with the players we bring back this year.

We're basically the same team that won 9 games last year except we have more experience and depth this year.
It's definitely a year where no one is giving MSU the benefit of the doubt.

However, all they seem to remember is we have a new head coach and offensive coordinator. The reality is we're returning a ton of experienced players on both sides of the ball. Many Seniors and Juniors that have been battle tested in the SEC.

I think going 8-4 this season is our low end estimate. I wouldn't be surprised if LSU falls in week 3 for that 11am kickoff. I'm not expecting us to beat Bama, cause for some reason we just play like crap in that game.

The talent is there for this team to do something special this year though. Just focus on one game at a time.

BAMA looks like crap.

Looked to me like the penalized players were trying to calm the situation down. Tech had the Ole Miss guy by the facemask.

bullshite penalties all night.

Ole Miss is getting shafted by the refs this game.

Pretty sure they could have called intentional grounding against Tech earlier in the game too.

Mike Leach had the best solution when they asked him about it during SEC media days.

That was one of my favorite games as an MSU fan.

Putting up 623 yards of passing on the reigning national champions in death valley.

It's going to be that obscure sports stat one day. Who was the QB that holds the record for the most passing yards in an SEC game (or was it national?). Answer is KJ Costello at Mississippi State.

No one will know this except MSU and LSU fans.

Leach's quote after the game when asked how it went "Well it's better than average I'll tell you that."

Please tell me you didn't attend MSU.

I'm gonna need some proof if you did.

I disagree.

Bama with nothing to play for. Usually means an unmotivated Bama team.

Auburn fighting for bowl eligibility and is very motivated.

Auburn gave Bama hell last Iron Bowl with a limping hurt QB.

Ole Pissers forget Freeze had his recruits go to a specific location for their ACT testing to get assistance on their answers. Otherwise they weren't eligible to play.

The hookers weren't for Freeze either. They were for the players/recruits. Freeze just took the fall for it to keep that from getting out.

There's a reason as long as Greg Sankey is around he won't let Freeze coach in the SEC ever again.

Most players with troubled backgrounds somehow end up at Ole Miss.

Go To Hell Ole Miss!!

HAIL STATE!!

I don’t know what’s gonna happen. That’s the deal with leach. He could lay a turd like Texas tech, Memphis and the egg bowl or he can completely incapacitate you (auburn second half, aTm). It’s a mixed bag, but history shows every now and then he avoids the losses to teams we should beat, and that makes for great seasons.

Memphis - SEC Officials gave them the game.
Texas Tech - 1/2 the team was not playing or out with COVID.
