There is a tremendous amount of coach fatigue with Gus at Auburn. It hasn't exactly subsided as the season has gone on. At some point, as the AD, you have to pull the trigger before that fatigue starts to eat into fan attendance or sets off a booster revolt.

Jeff Long famously refused to can Bert when the fans and boosters turned on the big guy. You will note that both Long and Bert are no longer employed at the University of Arkansas.

Auburn has NOT mailed it in. I don't know about the coaching, but the players are still trying to win games

Haha! Getting canned, but I wouldn’t be surprised if we lose.

It’s my belief that individuals generally have a 5 year run in leadership roles. It’s often too intense to sustain long-term success for most. I think Gus is past that 5 year term.

Look to Pep Guardiola or Klopp in the Premier League. They managed clubs in Germany & Spain before going to England. They have said similar things regarding life after Man City & Liverpool. I’ve also heard similar statements regarding Tier 1 & 2 military units.

Call me crazy, but I believe it is simply the way most humans are wired ...but not all.

I think if they have had off the record discussions with Freeze and he is willing to come, Gus will be gone Sunday, no matter the outcome. I think he probably blows the game. We suck worse on the road.

The recruiting, past few years and present, should get him fired no matter what his record is. Terrible days looming.

Ole Miss is after a few Auburn commits/croots so him being fired before Wednesday would benefit us

Gus needs more time. It is a COVID year as well.

Ya’ll are just heartless I say, heartless.

Give the man his due. He is an offensive genius. He has an inexperienced team.

God knows the BTR sports radio gods have enough to talk about with regard to LSU but one interesting nugget from one of our better pundits said this week that his sources say Gus is gone... Take it FWIW

I don’t get the infatuation with Freeze from Auburn fans - he has never actually won anything other than some small conference titles and a lot of high school stuff. And beat Saban twice.

That sounds EXACTLY like what you have now, but with baggage.

Beating Bama is the sole reason Auburn exists.

That would be Hannagriff and his source of info is actually from an AU booster down there. That has me hopeful, although I will believe it when I see it

LoL

Gus has a better record vs Saban than ANY coach in the country.

Yet our fans want him out.

Strange how you people think this...
