Well what do you know…now the SEC is postponing it’s vote on the “controversial “ (aka stupid) rule it was considering to have transfer players sit out one year before being eligible to play. Lane Kiffin is the only one on record as having spoken out against it… But I have to imagine that every other SEC coach has got to be thinking the same. This would immediately shift the advantage and talented players to non-SEC schools who don’t make them sit one year.
Yet another one of Skankey’s genius ideas that is getting “postponed“ (aka smarter heads prevailed and realized this is a stupid idea). Just like the “let’s kick LSU out of the SEC vote” got “postponed“.
Man…Skankey is not good for this league and has got to go. How can the rest of you not see this??

I agree Sankey negotiated a shite TV contract, moved to 9 games and contemplated this stupid rule. He’s halfway retarded I think.
With that said LSU should declare the former NFL players ineligible and I support his stance on that. He’s being petty in this pissing contest but so is LSU.

What are you talking about? LSU couldn't sign them even if they wanted to, they have no roster space.

He dislikes the rule because it prevents him from poaching SEC players.
He supports reinstating the 1 time transfer rule in the PCSA because it prevents those same transfers from leaving once they come to LSU
It’s not rocket science, coaches support rules that make their job easier. Don’t care at all about the athletes

I actually agree with Kiffin on this one.
One of the reasons the Big Ten has "caught up" to the SEC isn't that the Big Ten got better. It is because the SEC got worse mostly due to unlimited transfers. Kids are more likely to stay closer to home straight out of high school, so the SEC had an advantage simply because of the preponderance of elite high school ball is in the SEC footprint. However, that drive is not as strong after a year in the regional college town and they're more likely to go wherever is best fit for them. Paying them out of high school also pulls a few out of the region but that isn't as strong as the unlimited transfers in my opinion.
Not allowing the talent to stay in the system means the SEC will get worse while the talent goes everywhere else.
Absolutely moronic for administrators to think this is a good idea.

It is for intraconference transfers only and mitigates unhealthy behaviors and poaching among conference members.
If they all thought a "gentlemen's" agreement would suffice, I am sure it wouldn't be necessary. Yet, there seems to be some demand signal for it.

I think the SEC was fishing for other conferences to follow, but it didn't happen.
Without that it would be dumb.

Every other conference loves that they can feast on SEC depth.

Your inability to understand this vote was "postponed" due to the LSU president emailing the SEC to completely back off the pro player thing is hilarious.

Yeah if every conference would do it, and then extend that to also from other P5 conferences, it would be good.
But doing it alone is just dumb.

The SEC is out here playing ball with the other conferences, but get left at the altar when the shoe is on the other foot.
Shocking.

We would like him and LSU to go. Win win!

Yes…this is the only effect that’s going to come out of this if passed. Lane Kiffin won’t be able to poach players. Geez!! How stupid can some of you be? Are you so Lane-sessed that you cannot see the bigger picture?
