The 9 game conference schedule is anticipation of the next TV contract. Sucks right now, but it will get us all paid down the road.

Aren't we under contract till 2036? Getting 10 years ahead of the problem is just great planning ??

It's also in anticipation of getting rid of conference championship games. You know that is coming very soon.

It is for intraconference transfers only and mitigates unhealthy behaviors and poaching among conference members.

It’s still dumb as shite, as long as the other conferences are not doing the same thing. Why would a player limit their options by starting in the SEC, when they can go to a similar paying school in another conference, and have all options available, when they get ready to transfer?

OP is right. You guys are so focused on trolling LSU and hating Lane Kiffin that ya'll don't see the unintended consequences.

I don't care either way if I am being honest. SEC schools will still get talent and may retain more depth and continuity of rosters year to year, which isn't bad.

I wasn't taking a stance either way. Just correcting a post. It isn't like Sankey is coming up with this on his own. Obviously, there are schools bringing this issue up for discussion and a vote.

It certainly has pros and cons from a competition level and competitive balance in conference. It will be what it will be
