The melt when they name some coordinator or obscure coach is going to be spectacular.

Who is running things at LSU? The governor now calls the shots at the LSU athletic department?

Damn Louisiana. He may be right, but I couldn’t understand a word. He sounded like Ed O’s cousin. You people actually invoke Coach Saban’s name? Right now after hearing that, I think Ed O is the leading candidate. Good luck.
LMAO, reminds me of the time as a kid I was visiting a friend and her neighbor was this insane Cajun girl that randomly came outside and started hurling insults at us for walking down the street, but I could not even understand wtf she was saying. My friend had to translate, it was hilarious.

Not only did the Guvnah say taxpayers are footing the bill, but he also confirmed the buyout was not reduced.
A cool $53 million.

How does Woodward even have a job after a disaster like this
Based on that press conference I would say he doesn’t

Joe Alleva is laughing his arse off at these antics.

I don’t have a problem with Governor Landry getting involved in the coaching search because LSU’s success is so vital in the state. But he should’ve done his homework about the details of Kelly’s agent and Woodward’s agent.

yeah i’m sure he’d get right on that if he could read.

I'm not sure on the final amount, believe that's still up in the air.
Taxpayers are not paying it though, I'm 110% sure of that.

That video is amazing. I kept expecting him to say “I do declare!” like he was Foghorn Leghorn.
Can’t imagine a top shelf coach wants a part of that.

The LSU contingent can chime in, but doesn’t the governor of Louisiana have an inordinate amount of power when it comes to LSU’s operations, all of LSU’s operations, if he chooses to execute it, sort of a holdover from when Kingfish Long reigned supreme? So while some might view this as meddling, if I’m not mistaken he has every right to do this and can’t nobody stop him.
No, the only reason the governor is even involved in this process at all is because LSU currently does not have a president.
If a few rich guys decide that they want a coach and Landry tries to stop it, those rich guys will rip the rug right out from under Landry's feet and give it to a new governor.

A few things:
1) Governor Landry sounds like he is straight out of Swamp People.
2) I know LSU is a state university and that the head football coach is a state employee, but it still can’t be too comforting knowing that the Governor is meddling in the search process and that the athletic director apparently won’t be leading the search. Seems like a recipe for division in the athletic department.
3) Governor Landry is blasting the agent who represents most of the big name coaches in college football. Those coaches hire Jimmy Sexton for a reason. If the Governor didn’t want Sexton around, then how is LSU supposed to hire any of Sexton’s clients (such as Lane Kiffin)?

I’m ignorant of the hiring and contractual arrangements of big time coaches. So, by the Governor saying the state is buying out the contract, then the original contract must been approved by the state?
I thought boosters ponied up money for coaches salaries etc.
Can someone please explain to me and those who are ignorant of how coach contracts are structured explain if you can.

lsu is running such backwoods po dunk operation down there. they’d feel pretty embarrassed by this if they had any sense, but they don’t. oof. very unattractive to any coach with options.
So The Waterboy isn’t actually a comedy. It’s a documentary.
