Thanks. The original article is from CBS so it threw me off when I saw the NYP.

Correct. But he ended up at LSU because they put constraints on him (a GM with NFL experience that the AD would hire) that were not acceptable.

Wait your turn. He wants Bama as his final goal in the SEC.

Then he talked to Nick Saban who repeated how his biggest regret in life is leaving LSU because it’s the #1 job in all of college football.

All Nick Saban has ever said was leaving college for the NFL was his greatest regret. He has never publicly stated LSU is the #1 job in college football that's just you wishcasting.

In recent statements, Saban has expressed that while LSU has a great history, its status as the "best job" is debatable because of how the sport has changed. He believes that the most crucial factor is now the amount of money a school can spend to build its roster, not just facilities and fan support

Alabama or Georgia are the best jobs in CFB right now. Can that change? Sure.

WTF?

Over the last decade, Florida has transitioned into more and more of a basketball school.

Sadly LSU cares more about winning football games than us the past decade.

Sounds like he had all but eliminated Florida from consideration even before the LSU job became available.
So that's why his family flew to Gainesville a month after BK got shitcanned.

Makes sense

LSU fans have this bizarre, weird desperate desire for Nick Saban to say something nice about them.

They are the crazy high school ex gf that stalks their happily married ex on Facebook even after they have a new boyfriend. Looking at pics of his happy family and their wonderful life while using AI to impose their face over the wife's in the pics.

Can't say I blame him. LSU was an absolute last resort but the pro of coaching there is he'll be blessed with a massive buyout when they fire him in 2030. It dwarfs the hell their fans will put he and his family through when he loses to a 4 win Kentucky team...

It really is something to see. I'm not one to criticize fan bases, especially considering how some of ours are, but seeing them on this board is pretty wild. For a guy who hasn't won a damn thing.

I think he will do well there....but, to this point, he's mostly just proven that he's a world cass troll

Then again after a few more years of Sark I, myself, will probably cry tears of joy when he's finally fired.

Saban and Sexton told him where to go even after he and his family felt UF was best mix of personal and professional.

LK is a 50 year old still wanting and needing to be led by father figures.
He said this himself last week.

Yup. You can’t be a serious program hiring sun belt Billy.

Factual statement detected.

Here's his quote:

"When I left LSU, that was probably professionally the biggest mistake that I ever made," Saban said. "Not because we didn't have success in Miami, because I enjoyed coaching in Miami. But I found out in that experience that I like coaching in college better because you could develop players — personally, academically, athletically and all that — a little more than in pro ball."

I agree with him that LSU is the best job in football

LSU firing three successful coaches with multiple championship game appearances and two national championships between them is evidence that it clearly isn't.

At a school that should be considered the best job, national championship coaches wouldn't be one and done.

Last night after the MNF game Ryan Clark (former lsu safety) called out three of the last four LSU coaches. That's a run of coaches over more than 20 years that were disrespected by a former player.

That's not reflective of the best that ever was.
