I don't think Kiffy ends up in Miami, but I bet his agent gets a raise from Ole Miss for him to stay though.

I don’t know how you guys can’t see it:

Lane will never leave the SEC. He ALWAYS wanted back in as HC and will not leave Ole Miss except for Fla.

Kiffin has always felt like the most quintessential rebel without a cause. Florida doesn't feel like that place. Maybe my impression of Florida is higher than it should be. Time will tell.

FootballScoop, who is run by a OM guy, threw Muffin’s name at every college, juco and high school job out there. Yet they have been completely silent on Kiffikins.

Recruit? Miami as a private school coupled with NIL will be a power under Kiffin. No rules, just go play football.

Nevin Shapiro is still connected to The U.

Kiffin in Florida or Miami would make it a lot harder to recruit the state

Kiffin is all but gone. Heard from a very reliable source there is a memorandum of understanding in place.

In general I'm not scared of Kiffin because he'll get in his own way

But Kiffin at UF seems like it could be a genuine launching point for him if he could hold it together.

The only thing standing between Kiffin and a Top Tier job is Kiffin. Between Oxford and Miami, where is he more likely to get into trouble and destroy his career? He'd better stay in Oxford until he settles down completely.

Have you ever been to Miami-Dade before? It's 90% ghetto. If Kiffin bolts, he would have more desirable choices to go to.

Yeah.

Like Key Biscayne.

Two de-commit. Not three. Get it right ha.

This, but considering how he is recruiting, I think he just ends up with a monster contract in Oxford.

And how is he recruiting, exactly? No flame, serious question. He just had three four stars decommit. I'm sure I'll hear the "they were dropped" argument but nobody with any degree of intelligence believes that.

Do you guys like the idea of loading up with 10 or more out of the transfer portal?

Former Hurricanes booster Nevin Shapiro, who is serving on house arrest the remainder of his 20-year sentence for running a Ponzi scheme, thinks Kiffin is the target. According to what Dan Wetzel shared on this week’s “College Football Enquirer” podcast, Shapiro told Wetzel that Kiffin is Miami’s top candidate, with Randy Shannon as the defensive coordinator.

I heard this podcast this morning, and it didn't sound terribly serious.

I don't think Kiffin's going to put up with being told who to hire, especially when that hire was a former Miami HC. Right now, Miami looks like a lateral move. They haven't really been a factor in 20 years. He's already in the middle of a rebuild at a place that's going to have a lot more money than Miami is going to, thanks to the SEC's TV deal versus the terrible ACC TV deal.

If Kiffin's leaving, it's going to be for a better opportunity than this.

Overall reasonably well. I think the portal figures very prominently in what Kiffin's looking to do; he's been very proactive there.

We lost 2 recruits this week. The WR was being recruited for a DB at Ole Miss and wanted to play WR; it looks like State's going to offer him that chance, so understand why he's moving over.

The OL decommit I think we just have to take at his word: felt like he committed to quickly. The pressure on these kids has to be immense, and it's hard to understand the motivations of 17 year olds. He might yet sign with us.

Having fluctuations in who's committed is just part of the recruiting game.

Thanks for the level headed answer. I don't disagree with any of this. I asked the question because I'm not seeing many really big fish in the recruiting pipeline that you guys have a legitimate shot at, and I'd be nervous to stake my success on landing 10 guys out of the portal.

Watch recruiting down the stretch. That will give you a clue who is looking around, and who isn't

Yeah, the Randy Shannon bit was enough for me to check out. As if leaving the SEC for the ACC wouldn’t be dumb enough.
