Thanks for the level headed answer. I don't disagree with any of this. I asked the question because I'm not seeing many really big fish in the recruiting pipeline that you guys have a legitimate shot at, and I'd be nervous to stake my success on landing 10 guys out of the portal.

Normally, I'd think you'd be right. However, I think two things factor into Kiffin's decision making on this. First, we're going to have some positions--including QB--that need immediate help if we're going to sustain next season. That means we're going to have to go to the portal for quick help.

Second, Kiffin's had success with the portal strategy, and that's going to make it more likely that he goes back to the well. Kenny Yeboah, Chance Campbell, Jahcour Pearson, Jake Springer, and Orlando Umana were all portal transfers that are/were major contributors. I think Kiffin sees the portal as major part of the recruiting process rather than a side hustle.

Is Miami a better job than Ole Miss these days?
It once was, but that is not so obvious today.

Buddy, stop posting. Auburn isn't firing Harsin year 1. You can go home now.

Is anyone squirming? We'd promote Lebby and keep on rolling.

I completely disagree, Miami with its location(both southern Florida and acc coastal) is a sleeping giant. No clemson or fsu to share the division and enough recruits in south Florida alone to keep recruiting in the top 25. Ole miss is a mid tier west team with no room to grow......still don't think kiff goes to Miami tho

How much money do they put into football? No on campus stadium. Smaller fanbase. There isn't a giant there. South Florida has good players but those players go all over now.

Sure there's room to grow. You just don't want to acknowledge that the West shuffles and once Saban loses traction then Bama will be in the shuffle as well.

He could do some work in Miami now that he's lost the weight.

The shuffle is bama(13),auburn(6)and lsu(6)
Arky and the miss schools combine for 4 west titles. The point wasn't bama will be good forever it's more that Ole miss won't win it with any consistency

Better place to live, easy path to the playoffs, easier recruiting (by a LOT). And he could build a much better defensive staff there imo.

Ole Miss still wasn't a great job when Bama sucked though.

I always love whenever shite like this gets said as if their coach loves their university and program so much that they refuse agent representation and the millions of dollars a year they get paid.

Coaches are paid mercenaries. All of them. As much as you want to suck off your coach he doesn't give a shite about you at the end of the day.

Kiffin doesn't even have loyalty to family. When he left UT his BIL (Layla's brother) was on staff. Kiffin didn't even tell him.

His BIL found out from the news that Kiffin was leaving and he was not being retained.

Not even a phone call to family. No, Kiffin is worst than most.

How many of those west titles is Nick Saban responsible for? What a dumbass metric to look at.

He would be stupid to go to a private university, even in Miami.

It's the most predictable thing ever. I literally said this 2 months ago.
