Kentucky might’ve made the best hire in the SEC this off season

Stein is an interesting prospect and has been a beast so far. At the rate he’s going, in 3-5 years Kentucky is going to be an annual CFP appearance contender, an occasional SECCG contender, and who knows, maybe sooner or later they’ll compete for the whole thing someday, just look at Indiana.
It’ll take a few years most likely for the pieces to be in place and for Stein to install his system, his processes and take his lumps as a rookie coach. But who knows. What if he beats Alabama?
Even if he doesn’t he might be the best hire in the SEC, with USF hiring Hartline being the best hire by far. Not that Golesh is bad, but under Hartline USF is prime to take the next step to being a CFP contender.

Nothing wrong with optimism. Mark Stoops was solid even if he seemed burned out his last few years. Stein is a young coach. Maybe he can match or exceed what Stoops did.

Sloan is not there to install an offense and I doubt he has full autonomy to even call plays in Stein's offense. He's there to recruit, be a QB coach, and help in the film room. Three things he's actually pretty good at.
IF he is calling plays, it'll be Stein's call sheet and gameplan.

If he’s any good he’s gone to the NFL or a better program in 2-3 years. Kentucky won’t be able to afford to keep him

Hard to say but I am curious to see how the put all your NIL money into the things needed for a good passing attack works out. Will probably tune into that KY game Saturday before the 3:30 game to see what KY looks like.
