Ragland is more impactful and the better player. Not a diss to Beckwith, Ragland is just that good. The eye test makes it pretty clear.

Which has more impact on their team?

I don't know if I can this Q with certainty but I'll say this, the middle of our D was garbage last year until Beckwith was given the starting role. His play shored it up immediately.

Ragland is better than Kendell right now and is a very heady linebacker in addition to the physical skill, but I could definitely see Kendell being better at the next level. His sideline to sideline speed and cover skills have been impressive.

The only reason an Auburn defensive player accumulates stats is because of that shite show of an offense can't stay on the field.

Auburn is 82nd in TOP. congrats on your defensive players always being on the field.

Ragland is the highest graded ILB among draft prospects. He's been a dominant player in a defense full of high NFL draft picks, so I think he gets the nod. That being said, the difference between the two is small. They're two of the best in CFB this season.

It is hard to compare guys in different systems but I am very impressed with Ragland when I watch Bama games. Also a 3-4 Def like Bama runs is very dependent on that MLB to make those tackles.

Beckwith is the key in LSU's scheme as well. I know this... LSU's def is best with him in the game.

EXCEPT not at bama or lsu, which is the two teams we are talking about. This thread is for fans of teams that didn't have their dreams stomped out in october.

I'd say it's a coin flip. Would love to be the agent for either one.

Needs more havoc stats. Someone get aggy on this immediately. I like Ragland's game a lot. The issue is scheme in comparing the two. Also, I might take Brothers over both. Dude is tackling machine.

1) Brothers
2) Ragland
3) Beckwith

Not much separates those guys, though.

What I saw Ragland do against A&M was not even funny. I posted last month and repeat it today. He is the best I have seen in a long time

The season that Chavis and Brick wasted with Beckwith on the DL has something to do with his timeline in my view. I think Ragland is more polished but KB can drop the hammer with the best of them.

In all honesty, it's really not a fair question. Ragland is a SR.

IMHO Ragland is the best defensive player in the country. Beckwith is the 2nd best Mike though.

ETA: With that said Beckwith is much more important to LSU. If he goes down our defense take a HUUUUGGEEE blow.

Ragland is the best LB in the league IMO. However Beckwith is damn good along with Jones..

The scheme is also very important. I just think Bama has the better front 7, but LSU's is also very strong.

I think the key here is that LSU's oline is clearly better than Bama's oline therefore LSU's front 7 will have the easier go. If you can call it that.

LSU is paper thin. That is also a factor. bama has pretty solid depth.

I'll only say this, both are better candidates for SEC defensive player of the year than Myles Garrett (who I'm sure will win because of sack totals despite the fact he's a turnstile against the run). Both are complete, every down players, though if forced to pick I'd go Ragland.
