Leaves a spot open for the SEC

Is it Clemson or UNC?

You won’t get UNC without Duke. Same for UVA and Va. Tech

NC State would be a decent fit

Why not take all 4. Duke & UVA might not be football powers but they would help potentially bring in someone like ND or Stanford or someone who’s a little more into academics.

Missouri tried to get into the Big 10 when Nebraska joined. The Big 10 left them at the altar. I highly doubt that Mizzou is going to risk their lucrative spot in the SEC for a potential bid to the Big 10.

Im still in shock about all these "who does the SEC drop" threads. All this really means is the SEC may end up adding a few more.

If the B1G wanted Kansas, they could've invited them at any point since about 2011. Missouri is also very much not a priority for the B1G. If they do expand further, they will pick the best bits from the PAC and try to finally land ND. Why would they take Mizzou and Kansas if Oregon and ND are potentially on the table?

Sorry SEC, y'all are stuck with our underachieving program. And Kansas better be hoping for a seat at whichever of the PAC, Big 12, or ACC survives this mess.

Disagree. Oregon and Washington are the next logical choices. They're both stronger overall brands than Kansas and Missouri, they have historical ties playing Big 10 schools, USC/UCLA didn't make their move without thinking that other West Coast school would join for travel purposes, and Oregon and Washington won't be able to stand pat financially.

If the choice is between Clemson and North Carolina, you choose North Carolina every day of the week and twice on Sunday.

We absolutely would if we thought we had to expand again to keep them from going to the Big 10. Can't just surrender North Carolina and Virginia to the Big 10; too many dollars and eyeballs in those two states.

Mizzou would never go to the B10 as a package deal to help out kU. They are screwed and will probably end up dropping football or going independent

Especially on the brink of schedule changes that are going to more tightly integrate Missouri into the fabric of the conference.

More Mizzou speculation. What happened to the AAC?

Why would Mizzou voluntarily leave the SEC money?

I would love to see them go to the BIG just to get them out of the SEC, but, again, why would they?

It’s quite clear that the only option for Notre Dame is the big ten. I would assume at some point they will join them

North Carolina should be the SEC’s next target, if the jump to 20 is inevitable.

Wrong wallflower they offered a partial membership and Mizzou said no and then NU took it. That's why NU didn't get a full membership from the Big 10 Network for several years.

You would think so, but the Big 10 has targeted them for decades, probably before they took Penn State in. Yet, the Irish have kept their distance... but not from all conferences, since they're partners with the ACC.

That tells me there's some resistance to the Big 10 in South Bend.

They don't fit the regional SEC makeup, but if we go to a national model, they'd be a big score, and more importantly, a huge dagger to the Big 10 if they joined us. They'd be the SEC team in the heart of Big 10 country, a big respected brand there.
