I disagree. I think he's at least an adequate cover corner. He was in position to make plays. He's just too short to contend for a well thrown ball to a tall receiver. Norwood and Hanks are both probably 5-7 inches taller than Mathieu, and McCarron was putting the ball where only they could go up and get it.

He was right on Norwood on a lot of those passes, but had no chance to make a play do to size differences and ball placement. He never got seriously burnt on any play. He was just at a size disadvantage and AJ was having the game of his life.

By 15 minutes of fame being over I don't mean he'll never be heard from again...Obviously his nickname alone will cause people to continue to make a big deal when he makes plays.

What I'm saying is he WILL NOT be a heisman candidate next year, not even close.

Will he make plays? Yes Will it be every single game as it was this year? Probably not.

What he did this year was flukish, even for someone of his ability.

You're right. This ENTIRE season, not a SINGLE coach ever once tried to gameplan for TM7. NO ONE ever thought he was good enough to have to be game planned against. ESPECIALLY not Dana Holgorsen.

I've thought all along Claiborne was the best DB for LSU. And Reid has an argument for number two.

That's not a knock on Matthieu, more about how good their secondary is.

Both are future pros, if not all-pros.

This is mainly for the Honey Badger shirts littered across Poydras after the game.

Why take a shot at him though? It's not like he's profiting off of those shirts. Hell, he doesn't even like the nickname.

He's 4" taller and 10lbs heavier. Hardly a lot bigger and TM will put on more weight before he's drafted. He's perfect for a zone blitz scheme. He won't ever be a shut down corner but he has a place in the NFL. I love how y'all are trying to downplay him though.

No one's trying to downplay him. He had a hell of a year. But we're talking about the NFL. According to you he is 5'-7". Which is fine and dandy if he's a 200lb running back. He can add weight and get slower, but he's not getting any taller. He'll get burned or crushed in the NFL.

Im sure that was one of things Bama's gameplan was designed to do...ensure he was a non factor by taking him out of his comfort zone.
They obviously wanted to keep him confused/second guessing himself through picking on him early.

AJ also threw some incredibly nice passes that no corner could have done shite on.

Go check out the NFL site and look at the DBs. There are plenty in the league with similar measurables.

What do you do you mean he is not getting any taller. I was 5"10 when I graduated high school three years later I'm 6"5. It can happen. He was not abused at all in this game AJ made some incredible throws where only his receiver could get to it. get over yourself troll

At first I was like -"Thug" regarding TM7, but that's probably more because I wanted to dislike him. Not saying he's on my Christmas Card list, and I know I've done/said stuff I probably shouldn't have when I was apx 20..so. Dad and I were talking during the game and we both agreed that in certain scenarios he can be a liability due to his size but the kid plays 100% and you got to like that.

Not sure why he doesn't show up on offense. May not be the fastest tiger but does appear to be pretty dang quick.

It's not enough for Bama fans to win the game and enjoy/take pride in their school.

The real fun comes in trolling like a motherfricker for the days following the game.

Without the trolling, the game means nothing to some.

Amazing.

Oh you must've been in coma since November 5th. My fault. Just disregard the original post.

Cry me a river. So many LSU fans made much fun of Dre's injury after nov. 5th, let them have fun and get some thicker skin.

That being said, i think HB7 is a hell of a player, and Monday certainly did not change my opinion.

No crying here. I'm not excusing the LSU fans either.

I guess I can be happy for my team and win/lose with dignity without being a horse's arse about it and trolling a bunch of strangers less than 2 days after the biggest win of the year.

For some, the post-game shite-talking is the real attraction.

What exactly were you expecting when you decided to click the mouse?

If you are being held against your will and forced to read then say roll tide and we'll send help.

BTW, it means that LSU fans have been over here in force talking trash about the first matchup and what was going to happen this past Monday.

Just a bit of humility and maybe a fan of the most storied program in college football to act like he's been there before.

Clearly I expected too much.

The time for humility has passed. Gotta get the punches in before basketball...err....baseball season cranks up.
