re: Guys, "Go Gata" won again

That map, at that scale, really does not reflect the absurd layout of her district. I was driving down the main street in my area of jax (hendicks ave) and saw a yard banner for 'Glo Smith - Republican". i recently moved to the area but thought "why is she wasting her time running against Ander Crenshaw...he's not going to lose. Out of curiousity I looked her up and found out shewas running against Go Gata...and Corrines district is the other side of hendicks,up through an area called St nicholas (but not on the north side of Atlantic Ave part of st nichola...thats river front) then stretches through EdWaters University area of Arlington, bac through downtown....then to Gville and almost Orlando. Its almost handpicked households. She'll die before she loses in that district map

The incoming (Jan.) FSU president is a political favor being repayed. He's resigning as the current head of Rick Scotts fundraising efforts, and is basically tasked with fundraising for FSU...so do you really think he's going to hamper the biggest marketing weapon he has?
To me the argument is similar to the Tiger Phil argument. I know some knowledgeable PGA people that say Phil is more talented than Tiger (not that Tiger isn't talented but less than Phil) but the drop off from Phil to Tiger is minor compared to the difference in Tiger's work ethic, mental tenacity, and insanely intense focus.
From what I've seen of Spurrier, and as was mentioned earlier, he's insecure. His mind set seems to be: if I couldn't do it, it A) can't be done legally, or B) the person who did do it has their priorities messed up. He does coaches through the media better than anyone I've seen in a long long time - maybe ever, and people love it (outside of clemson that is) He wasn't paying Nick a compliment regarding recruiting. He's trying to play mind games. It works against Dabo. Dabo tries to fight SOS on SOS's terms. The whole "BAMA better than the Jaguars" thing...SOS knew it would get 2 weeks of media coverage if he talked about it. And SOS seems to only talk about people/teams that are of any consequence to him/ his legacy. Any thing to get a distraction. Is Nick a great coach, anyone that says other wise is silly. Just ask yourself, if you team's coach were let go and Nick were available - would you want him to be your next coach? Of course he's not perfect. He's like the chessmaster that loses to an unconventional street smart kind of player. Chessmaster wins most of the time but has his achilles heel also. SOS is a top 10 coach, some times though his insecurity show. I'm pretty sure also that Nick is about an hour+ from ending his day, and will start tomorrow morning at 6am and end it about 14 hrs later just to make sure that his team doesn't lose to KENTUCKY after one of - if not the- biggest wins ever his home stadium
I think they are pretty well compensated for being part time "employees" as it is.

I'm a fan of the Crimson Tide, I'm a fan of CFB, I'd still go to games in Tuscaloosa if ....AJ McCarron/Trent Richardson/CJ Moseley etc had gone to other schools. .
heard this the other day: "sure, Weir isn't going to think Yuna Kim should have won - she's the Queen of Skating, and he isn't"

Clay should at least give credit where credit is due...he basically copied this from EDSBS. 2+ years ago

Then again, coming up with his own stuff would require effort

U bama people are crazy. U think you will never lose another game ever again

Don't take advice from men who wear belts and suspenders and from people too lazy to spell out "you".
I felt like it was more like sitting in Chastain Park than in a CFB stadium... Like playing the golf course

AU plays OSU for the title if we beat bama

No MSU knocks off OSU. FSU loses w/o Kobe. Baylor loses to any of the next two AU beats USCe/Mizzou and Gus takes his SEC East cast off QB and faces.........................

Oregon in Pasadena.

(Can't believe I just typed that...sad part is it's not completely unrealistic)

"The state attorney doesn't want to indict the case because he's going to lose it," said Barry Cohen, a prominent Tampa litigator. "There's going to be reasonable doubt, unless there's other evidence that can corroborate what she's saying."

This is what I don't get. There were other people there. If they are are saying Jameis didn't do it, then she flat out lied? Bring her up charges for a false police report. She would have her day in court. Ultimately I would want to get the roommates/witnesses on the stand to testify under oath - then see if their story changes with the threat of 5 years and a several thousand dollar fine for perjury. If he's guilty are they willing to potentially go to jail for him? They are the only ones that can solve this. From what I've read of TPD and their bungling of this...I doubt they are going to turn over every rock/stone to find any other evidence.
I give them credit for what appears to be at least a 7 letter word....
but when hangman is more exciting than the game, then we have a perfect example of why FSU chose the ACC
personally I'm traumatized over the relegation to "second fiddle"...it's absolutely killing out recruiting
Hmmm, I wonder then will AU be ranked ahead of Bama going into the iron bowl...I mean since it's already a formality that Bama will not win. No team should be expected to fight the dual-headed monster of LSU's history of being #13 and taking down #1 AND having the curse of game day. Fortunately Bama can still get to ATL with a win over MSU and what surely would have to be an upset win over AU in AU.

Like I said, frick Auburn, but contrary to what most people want to believe, I love good football, even if it's from the little brother school. It'd be blind homerism to ignore what they're doing just because I hate them.

It's like when Andre Agassi was questioned why he acknowledged a good play/shot by an opposing player. Not that he didn't want to win, or that he even liked the guy ....but there is nothing wrong with recognizing good play/ talent. He was a fan as well as player. I don't want Bama to ever lose to AU, but to recognize AU isn't the same team from last year, or even the same team from Aug 31 is being intentionally blind.

It amazes me how people don't realize how ESPN and sports media in general functions.

Hence the only reason Danny Kannel is speaking to more than 5 people about college football. Say what you want about Finebaum, - it's Alabama now,but he'll jump on what ever bandwagon. Kannel is horrible even when FSU is horrible and unbearable when FSU is good...then again, that's what the producers want
If they can get to a game 7...you never know how nerves/ pressure will affect a team and the Cardinals seem to be....bottom of the 9th 2 out pressure type of team. So, I give them a better than average chance (compared to most 2 down teams). It wouldn't surprise me to see a 8-1 game tonight from either side. The Card's bats have been slumping since the end of the NLCS...so they are do to get a couple of games of runs. The same could be said for the bottom order of the Sox's line up as well.
Absolutely. heck of a football player
Driving home after UT beat Bama and hearing that Payne Stewart died in a plane crash (technically before the "crash" but...)

I liked Payne Stewart a lot. Different guy, had some bumps in the road but prevailed. He was very nice to me once when I volunteered to caddy at a Pro Am
