That one LSU fan earlier in the thread was right. The clock is ticking on the Badger's moment. The simple fact is, LSU's success will spell the doom of HB7. LSU recruits studs in the secondary in way too great a number to justify keeping someone of his stature/skills on the field. I doubt the Badger sees much playing time by his senior year.

Since I'm all about some pilling on on the "Honey Weasel" here are some draft stats I looked up back in Nov. Check out the height and weights and tell me where TM7 fits in.

Okay Tool, here's some numbers for you to ponder on since the thread is titled Kiper/McShay and they are the draft experts. Last year there were 6 CB's drafted in the first 2 rounds.

Patrick Peterson 6".5" 219 lbs
Prince Amukamara 6'0" 206 lbs
Jummy Smith 6' 2.5" 211 lbs
Ras I Dowling 6'1.5" 198 lbs
Aaron Williams 6'0" 204 lbs
see a trend yet
Brandon Harris was the 60th pick at 5'9.5" 191 lbs (2 inches taller and 15 lbs heavier than TM.

TM is a late round gamble, while Dre has the physicals that NFL Coaches can work with.

but lets go even farther back

I also looked at the first round of the 2010 draft.

Joe Hadden 5'10" 196
Devin McCourty 5'11" 193
Kyle Wilson 5'10" 194
Patrick Robinson 5'11" 190 lbs

All close to 6' 200 lbs. I'll concede that TM will probably grow but you dont know that. What you can go on is what he is right now and how he compares to Dre right now. Based on the size of the corners from the first two rounds of 2011 and the first round of 2010 it's obvious that if your not pushing 6' 200lbs your probably not going to jump up many draft boards. If he and Dre were up for the same spot TM is not getting the call.

And that's why the BCS needs to be thrown out the fricking window. They advertise that "every game counts" and this year couldn't be farther from the truth.

Who the frick brought up Dre? I'll bet you whatever you want that TM7 is drafted in the first 2 rounds when he comes out.

I hope that was sarcastic.

You all are all right. TM7 history. He was just in the right spot at the right time. OVER AND OVER AGAIN! You gumps are already insecure about our next game. And you have a good reason to be. Our defense will be the same, and our offense will be much better. And guess what, we will be at home this year. Where we win all of our home games. Unlike your team.

It was a quote from a thread back in Nov. Dre has nothing to do with the current thread. The point of the quote was the size of the corners drafted in the first 2 round of '11 and the first round of '10. TM7 doesnt measure up.

I was being totally serious. Football at the level LSU plays at is a harsh, unsentimental business. As the talent in the secondary keeps rising, there will be more and more players on the roster that have his playmaker skills that aren't a liability in coverage.

Look, it wasn't just Monday night. Go back and look at the Tenn and Ark games. The kid is just not a very good DB in coverage. Also, unless LSU has a kid on the other side as great as Claiborne (which effectively takes away half the field) then Chavis won't be able to gamble near as much from the slot with the Badger.

GTFO.....just because the guy didn't strip, intercept or return a punt he has a bad game? The guy still had several pass break ups and six solo tackles. Why focus on one guy when the entire team played bad.

Kid is going to own NCAA records for turnovers possibly by the end of next year. Yeah, he's not special at all.

Tharold Simon will be that guy. Not to mention we're talking about a defensive back. THEY ALL have balls caught on them in EVERY game. Y'all act like he's been torched repeatedly for TDs or some shite.

Because that one guy is returning next season and will be one of LSU's best players. Several Gumps are preparing themselves for more TM7 highlights in 2012 and one of several Bama losses.

They called the Oregon game a home game too. Lets face it, LSU is home game were ever they go, especially in Tuscaloosa! BOOM!

Honey Badger is average in coverage, a beast playmaker, and an amazing returner. The guy he was guarding was a good 7 inches taller he had no shot. He is still a top 10-15 playmaker in College football

Exactly. Reason he is billed as a future safety. Also agree that AJ and his receivers played their A game while Mathieu did not. Those who have watched every game for two years have seen him break up perfectly thrown passes. For whatever reason he couldn't do it Monday. Props to 'Bama.

No, I think it is because when some of us tried to temper you guys' insanity on how good TM is, you got all hurt and loud about it. Now, I think we're calmly saying, "I told you so."

"I told you so" about what? TM7 gave up some plays. Find me one DB in the history of football that doesn't give up some yards.
