Those front door skid steers can be death traps, my son had his catch on fire. Luckily it burned the main hydraulic line which made the brush cutter go to the ground so he could open the door, scared the shite out of him though.

100%, I am a lot more careful now. It's a horrible feeling, I am glad your son is alright.

Also, how the hell is Shipley 40 years old?

He was at UT the same years I was, time flies.

I watch a lot of Texas football, almost as much as Oklahoma football.

When those two were playing you'd here that exact same statement during every broadcast so yeah, it has become a punch line.

I would have said it if you didn’t. Prayers for the kid. Apparently he didn’t make the NFL? Surprised

Shipley was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals in the third round of the 2010 NFL Draft and had 79 receptions for 858 yards and four touchdowns over three seasons with the Bengals, Jacksonville Jaguars and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Thoughts and prayers for Jordan and his family. As a rancher, I’ve heard of too many incidents with skid steer loaders. They are hell to get out of if there is a problem.

Burn piles can sneak up on you fast. Many ways to get into trouble.

Extensive burns suck for a number of reasons. One is blood loss. Most people don't realize that blood loss is a major complication with burn patients behind airway management of course.

I had a patient fall into a bonfire near New Braunfels. He was fricked. Fire had burned all of his clothes completely. His face. His hair. He was basically a corpse when he arrived but EMS intubated in the field. We could not get blood out of him even with an arterial stick.

Prayers for this man and his family.

And then tore his knee up with the Bucs I think on a punt return. Never was able to recover from it in the league

We can throw barbs at each other left and right but at the end of the day thank you for kind words and putting differences aside. If it makes any difference in Jordan’s fight is appreciated, he’s a good father and husband

An absolute fricking baller and one of my favorite Longhorns ever. His punt return and TD reception in the 2008 OU game (the one where Quan Cosby nearly killed the OU safety) are two of my favorite Longhorn plays ever. Also almost single-handedly kept us in the title game against Bama after Colt went down.

Best wishes for a full recovery, Jordan!

but the picture I was posted was from pushing brush into the burn pile and got stuck. Couldn't get it out so had to bail

I've had this happen too. Got a bit too close and then couldn't get out. Was able to tow it away from the burn pile while it was catching fire and then put it out. But it happened fast. Very scary situation. Prayers for him. That was probably my favorite Texas team though I liked the teams with Vince Young too. McCoy would have probably won you guys the national championship if he had been healthy.

That is awful. Prayer to the Shipley family. It sounds like he was by himself which only adds to the danger. Pushing dry brush onto a burn pile can get hairy fast. Sounds like it was an incredible feat for him to make it to help.

Prayers to Jordan and his family! I was burned severely many years ago. I hope he recovers and goes on to do great things. May God give him the strength to overcome this tragedy.
