Jalen Milroe claps back at Bill O'Brien suggesting he change positions: 'Look where I'm at right now'
quote:

“All my life, even when I was in college,” Milroe said. “My own offensive coordinator Bill O’Brien told me I shouldn’t play quarterback. So there’s a lot of things I can have motivation on, and that’s something I have motivation on.”

quote:

Milroe certainly used O’Brien’s suggestion as fuel for the fire, eventually working his way into the starting role for the Crimson Tide. The ride wasn’t necessarily smooth, though.

I think most bama fans would have agreed with BOB in September.

O’Brien wasn’t wrong though. Dude was complete arse. Now he’s serviceable. He still doesn’t strike me as a future NFL QB but he has time to prove internet badass dukeg7213 wrong

Yeah, the whole Bama fanbase would have agreed after the Texas game.

Hurts didn’t look like an NFL QB either but went on to get developed at OU and then found a system to suit his strengths.

Milroe may decide to take a similar path one day.

They did. And I told them at the time Milroe would be fine and they were going to have to be patient because Milroe wasn't plug-n-play like they were used to.

Milroe will never make the NFL as a QB.

I won't lie. I was one of them. I'm still not 100% sold on Milroe as a passer until he improves. But he is more than capable of leading this team to a NC at QB. Heck, Bama's had a few who were less capable than Milroe who did win a NC.

If Hurts did it, so can Milroe. We'll see.

Is that what you get after sex with a Bama football player?

Is he not still in college? Interesting.

You should ask the Arkansas players considering the annual pounding they receive.

If Anthony Richardson can be a first round draft pick, don't count out Milroe. Granted, I was thinking he'd be an awesome TE in mid September.

He has a good arm. Fast and strong. I'd compare him a little bit to Dak Prescott, so he could make it in the NFL.

I think he'll be taken in the draft if he continues to improve.

O’Brien wasn’t wrong though.

Milroe has one of the highest ceilings of any QB in the country including Daniels and Williams.

He was also incredibly raw as a passer and needed time to develop.

The issue to your point was that he was so incredibly raw and frankly unsuited to the BOB traditional style offense that he wasn’t entirely wrong.

Either Bama needed to ditch BOB (which was my preference) or Milroe was a bad fit.

Milroe was a developmental guy and BOB wasn’t the guy to develop a mobile RPO guy like he is.
