I watched the game and Arnold was decisive and obviously used his strength (his legs) to do damage. In the other hand it's not too hard to see that his arm isn't something to be feared. You have to spy him and if you slow down his legs you win. Auburn has some pieces on defense but are a long way away from looking like any type of contender. I know it's early. Nice win over a decent Baylor team (my Alma mater) on the road

That's OK. Still a big step for Arnold with his past history.

Proves that Auburn’s heralded receiving class are good run blockers.

WR were double covered all night, and for whatever reason Baylor refused to stack the box and Arnold and the backs feasted for 300+ rushing yards.

I give them credit. Baylor told them they weren’t going to beat them with their wide receivers and they made them pay.

Now it’s the defense that’s the problem. If they don’t get that tightened up, they will get blown out in Norman and college Station.

What if I told you…

In 2023 Auburn was averaging 59 ppg after game one. Last season Auburn was averaging 73 ppg after game one.

I would tap the brakes. Last season Baylor’s defense was horrendous. They would have ranked 15th in the SEC. Only Mississippi State was worse statistically. Everyone has made fun of big 12 defense for years. Baylor has had a shitty defense even by big 12 standards. This year looks no different. Their defensive line got pushed around. Auburn will play 8 games against teams who are more physical than Baylor.

Baylor defense is mediocre and went to even worse when its best player/field general went out in 1Q

We are averaging over 300 yards rushing per game.

Very impressive Auburn fans. I love the aggressive run attack from Arnold. It’s going to be a fun season watching you guys

Anytime you win by double digits on the road it’s a good win.

Good post

I don’t know many Auburn people who expect elite play from him

I do think it’s reasonable for him to make a jump upwards from his time at OU and prove to be a dynamic successful SEC QB

Arnold did what he was asked and did it well. We put a lot of pressure on the offense to keep hammering and they didn’t blink.

The hat tip there goes to Hugh, who showed good maturity IMO by resisting the temptation to force the pass when they were giving us first downs on the ground and our O line was in control. I’m not a big Hugh fan, but i think he saw how the missed shot in the 1H zapped the momentum and took what he was given.

last season bama couldn't make a 12 team playoff. SMU, Indiana, and Tennessee did. In other words...............last season was last season.
