It's obvious this board believes that Nate Oats is one of the best in the business

Kentucky fans want him... It boils down too whether he wants to deal with the expectations of the Kentucky job. ... From math teacher, a decade ago, to one of the most respected minds in college basketball today... Nothing but respect for him, whatever he may decide

Oats is the smokescreen

The real candidates are Drew, Hurley, Wright, and maybe Few

Everyone knows oats isn’t leaving and Kentucky isn’t calling. They can do better and oats is happy in Alabama.

Oats is a damn good coach, no doubt. Kentucky is not Bama, it's the Bama of Football but in Basketball.

The pressure and intensity of the supporters are just like Bama in football.

Oats runs a simple offense predicated on the 3. It's too simple for Kentucky fans and rightly so...

He would snap within a couple years, unless he pulls a Dan at UCONN and changes his philosophy.

Billy Donavan...hes worthy of Kentucky and could handle intensity of supporters.

Ah the old "Bama just tosses up threes to win" mindset. Oats runs an NBA offense.

His system is based on analytics and it works.

Modern basketball.

Only downside is shooters can have cold spells, teams can choose to not play at a fast tempo, and 5 out or single post can lead to some size mismatches.

In general, the positives outweigh the negatives bc players want to have a green light for shooting.

Nate isn’t changing his philosophy, he damn sure isn’t doing it to appease a fan base.

If your coach stays, he'll be there at your school coaching next year. No big deal.

If your coach leaves, you'll have another coach coaching there next year. No big deal.

Yes, his philosophy is similar to that of the best team in the NBA, the Celtics. They shoot a ton of 3's. Only difference is that Bama has had inconsistent defensive rosters...some years they lack a little rim protection (this year) some years their guards/wings are too small to switch well on the perimeter. If he's recruiting to a place like Kentucky that could be alleviated.

I also think he could do a better job of empowering his teams to take midrange shots/floaters against really good defenses that take away the 3 and the rim. Sometimes a wide open 12 footer is better than a heavily contested 3

He is a great coach. Not sure how anybody can disagree with that.

I want Oats at UK and Will Wade at Bama just for the fallout on the board.

You know how I know that I know you know nothing about offense in BB

It's all the gumps / you who think Bama runs a pro offense...

Idiots

You couldn't even spell Basketball until Oats showed up. Wimp was back in 1980's....

Oats is a very good coach but unless UK gets turned down a few times I think the buyout will keep him there a bit longer.

You know how I know you don't know shite about me? I've been following Alabama basketball since the days of Wimp Sanderson.
Stick to something you're familiar with like swilling whiskey or fishing for crawdads from the ditch in your front yard.
