I only say that as someone who has read the board for over a decade.
There’s literally millions of data points.

I'm responding to the question for the easiest path forward that is most peaceful.
And the answer to the bigger problem is that the schools and the conferences provide a unified front. And there has to be a starting point for that. Not continued whataboutisms in order to carve out their own advantages.
But since we are looking for a peaceful solution within conference now, I would say LSU using a Baton Rouge judge as a shield against the SEC is a problem that has to be removed. That game of chicken already played out and that was very damaging.
But now that the SEC has filed a federal suit, I don’t know if the toothpaste can be put back in the tube.

My counterpoint would be you probably get more goodwill value from doing this than those players add (to LSU or the other programs).
Your counterpoint is disingenuous. Other teams were adding pros and using courts to defy NCAA and SEC rules before LSU did with no action taken by the SEC. The very day after it became public that LSU was recruiting a player that was suing for a 5th year, the SEC decided to make a new rule
frick that, and frick anybody that has a problem with the Louisiana court.

They’ve gone about it so aggressively and in such hostile fashion that it probably limits their options, agreed. Still seems like there could be some sort of negotiated outcome where LSU ends the saga and gets an “LSU wants to be an integrity leader for amateur athletics” attaboy from the SEC though (in my head)
What aggression has LSU displayed in any of this? Did the file lawsuits? Did they threaten to leave the conference?
Be specific.

Given how arbitrary the SEC has decided to be on which schools can do it and which schools can't, surely you can see why that wouldn't work.
It’s not arbitrary. You just like where the line was drawn. You’re saying there’s no difference between the players for other teams and the players that LSU is pursuing.

Stop crying, you bitch. Blake Baker's not coming back, Brian Kelly can't hurt you any more, and your shitty team just signed a pro too.

LSU wasn’t a part of the hearing yesterday. Seriously, at what point does that get through your thick arse skulls?

The conference LSU belongs to alleges LSU and Lane have intentionally used their role as a state actor to subvert the ability of the conference to rule make and govern itself.
Which, as they say, is big if true

My prediction is LSU doesn't play the players as there's already an acclimation period, they'll also want to see what the CFP plans to do.
Harris isn't in shape anyway, and may be injured. Wright would be a backup TE.
Everyone will crow about LSU bending the knee.
I think it was just a Hail Mary attempt to try to make a point, and if you win, maybe you get some nice depth pieces. Seems like you'd be seeing players and their parents protesting if they were truly worried about losing their season over same randoms.

There isn’t a difference. They all signed contract with the NFL and participated in NFL related activities.
The SEC not specifying what type of contracts are the ones that cross the line is their fault.

You keep saying this like you believe a lawsuit is proof of fact.
Anyone can allege anything in a lawsuit.
I hope this helps.
Rather than speculative claims, the SEC's evidence centers around public rosters, on-field actions, and administrative votes:
Physical Presence on Campus: The SEC highlights extensive media and internal reports showing that at least two high-profile former NFL players—tight end Dae'Quan Wright (formerly with the Cleveland Browns) and defensive lineman Zxavian Harris (formerly with the New Orleans Saints)—are already on campus and actively practicing with the LSU football team.
The "Unequivocal Intent" to Play Them: The SEC points to explicit public and private declarations from Lane Kiffin and LSU administrators stating their direct intent to place these professional athletes on the official 105-man roster ahead of their season-opening game against Clemson.
The August Voting Record: The SEC utilizes institutional voting data as evidence of LSU's defiance. During an August meeting regarding the pro-athlete ban, LSU voted in favor of the policy statement but abstained from the follow-up vote that established severe penalties (such as a 50% budget fine and half-season coach suspensions) for schools that violated it. The SEC presents this targeted abstention as proof of a pre-planned effort to break the rule.

In the civilized world, screaming longer and louder doesn’t change reality.
Louisiana is probably different.

If it were true they wouldn’t bury it in legalese and would have outright accused LSU of coercing and colluding with Wright, Harris and Pyburn to sue the SEC.
They didn’t do that, because it didn’t happen.

Serious question. What's the best solution here for a peaceful resolution?
What should the SEC do?
What should LSU do?
Is the relationship beyond repair?
It is what it is. There will be hurt feelings and probably talk for a few years, but if things are allowed to settle down things will go back to normal. It will also depend on any lingering changes to the game and how people feel about those.

There was no difference with Bediako, if anything, that was more egregious. He was a pro for 3 seasons or so, Harris hasn't done anything football related since Ole Miss and Wright has only practiced a few times.
Meanwhile, Bediako played 5 games with no conference repercussions. LSU gets sued just for threatening to play former pros.
That's pretty arbitrary. Sankey straight up admitted to handling these cases, simply based on his feelings about them.

In spite of that fact, we still see the entire state leadership voicing comments about it, and, some even filing briefs for it. All while saying “Go Tigers” on camera…

Nope. Not until tx and sc and every other school drops theirs who went through the draft and mini camps training camps any of it
There’s no scenario where LSU is asked to not play their guys and other teams with former NFL guys don’t have to.
Zero chance that happens.
