Aggies defend their SoS and SoR (rightfully so) then put down another team with similar reasoning.
The SEC scheduling discussion has always been flawed and circular. The parity has made it more so.
Texas is put at 10 because the season is in front of them and if they win out (they won’t), they will deservedly be in the playoff. They also have the best argument should they beat one of UGA or the Aggies.
The committee says they don’t project forward with rankings, but it’s the exact reason OSU/IU are 1 and 2.
It’s about protecting potential seeding scenarios for the first two rounds.

Yes. I have known all season that we are one of the youngest teams in the SEC, but not using that as an excuse. There’s always hope, for me at least, that in those situations the team will “grow up” during the season. We’ll see.

They’ve struggled in every single power 4 game and lost 2 of them

I said it a couple of weeks ago- they are winning UGLY but they are winning. Those ugly Ws look the same as a fancy W.
I like to shite talk the horns as much as anyone but they are alive and in control of their own destiny to be in the 12 team playoff.

Out of all the 2 loss teams they are in the top 10
They're a weird team- they beat 2 top 15 teams- Vandy and OU. OU was a great win but Vandy damn near came back on them scoring 21 in the 4th. But then they lose to Fla by 9, barely beat M State and Kentucky- Can a team have terrible wins ? if so this qualifies.
They have not played consistently at all. Totally psycho and impossible to predict.

Who else is? We have 2 top 15 wins and 1 loss to the #1 team, those are facts.
Name a better resume for a 2 loss team

If we win out Texas will be the #5 - 8 team for sure. Maybe, and thats a big maybe #4.

If we are 8-4 playoffs are 100% irrelevant. Now at 9-3 with a win of UGA or ATM there is a fair discussion for the 10 - 11 spot.

If tu wins out then they are definitely in the playoff and Arch is a leading Heisman candidate. I hate whorn but I have to hand it to them, they are masters at selling their brand to the media, creating and owning the narrative and manipulative marketing to get their way. It’s pretty remarkable.

Doest matter.
They have an opportunity to play in with a win over Georgia and A&M.

A better question would be two loss team? And the answer is no. Elite defense, but an offense that has vastly underperformed. Notre Dame, another 2 loss team would beat Texas.

They will get more of a media push than similar programs who are probably better.
Would you like to list those 7-2 programs that are better than Texas?

If Texas wins out it will have little to do with selling, marketing, or manipulating narratives. They’ll have earned it on the field.

If Texas wins the rest of their games they’d deserve a top 5 ranking

Maybe at this precise time. But trip to Athens in a few days will answer this with a resounding yes or no.
There's been a direct correlation between improved OL play and Arch's play. But I'm still not convinced they've been thoroughly tested as they will this weekend.
