Is Saban really 70? by TutHillTiger
I heard that the other day and thought no way he is that old, but hell I am old and he is lot older than me. He may need to pack it in this year if he is that old, would be huge Covid 19 risk.

Nah, he handicapped his age by 10 yrs so that people would be in awe of the 80 yr old coach. Well, after his birthday........

The fact that you have to ask, proves he's not your average older coach. He's healthier and in better shape than people half his age.

Unlike 60 year old Ed Orgeron who looks like he's a Popeye's chicken wing away from a heart attack. That divorce had to put a lot of stress on that steroid-enlarged heart.

Classless considering the prevalence of heart disease and good men dying suddenly via hereditary factors. Particularly when Saban himself, lost his father to a widow maker when his father was only 46. O is in great shape by the way.

Loved the jacket he wore that night. No doubt who he was pulling for.

He definitely respects LSU more than Clemson. I can't tell you how much we hate the weird cult people.

Older people are surviving the Chinese virus. Coach Saban is in good to great condition, has soem of the best doctors making sure he is healthy, he exercises, eats right for the most part (little Debbies are his weakness).

He will continue to coach until he decides to leave on his terms. My guess has always been 2022 or until he wins 2 more NC (he may go past 2022 to win those by the way)

In 1999 when he accepted the LSU Head Coaching job over the phone (he likes to accept and quit jobs over the phone), he was 49....

Hired the industry leaders in sports science. But yeah, Cochran had a nice little gimmick.

The mistake with Cochran, as funny as his schtick can be, was keeping him around too long. The best NFL players are often no longer the guys who max out in the weight room but rather go for an all-around fitness regimen that involve things that better prevent injury. Cochran had too many players trying to max out and that may or may not have contributed to some of Bama's injury issues. Who knows but I guess we will see in the next few seasons.

The Little Debbies are meaningless. The two he eats every day have half the sugar of one regular Coke.

He’s certainly a shell of his younger self, physically and mentally. It’s tough to see.

At least he’s stopped dressing like the joker.

bamaRoo, nice try with the video clip. That little boy Coach O is chasing is now in college, making that clip at least 12++ yrs old. As for his RedBull drinking, that number, too, is old news, going back to his Black Bears tenure. He is a health nut now & has been for several yrs. Saban's body frame will serve his health well as he gets older, but the stress his heart has been under, for yrs, will do him no favors, either.

Steve Ensminger, the man behind the greatest offense in the history of college football, is only 61.

Quick question, how was LSU's offense in 2018 when Ensminger had Burrow and could run whatever offense he wants?

That video came out last summer and was said then that it was a "recent trip".

Of course, that doesn't mean it was accurate, but I'm curious as to why you think the video is over 12 years old. Seemed more likely to me it wasn't really him at all.

I will be totally honest here, I am surprised he has not had at least one heart attack or stroke. Genetics trumps being in shape every day and twice on Sunday. His heart attack risk are worst than mine. But hell he can’t quit coaching or he will have one for sure

He's not the "BEAR!" Although an argument can be made that the spirit of
P.W.B. is inside CNS!

Got nothing bad to say against Coach. He told Fauci and the Chicken Little's to stuff it.

SEC is playing ball.
