There are very few teams before 1975 that have won multiple NC and had all their NC winning teams play in bowl games, even fewer that won NC before WWII
ETA- But guess who meets that standard?

Depends how you define it. You could narrow it down to 4-5 schools, or consider it to be 13-15 schools.
The only ones that are bonafide, no question football blue bloods in my opinion are:
Ohio State
Alabama
Oklahoma
Notre Dame
I would say that Texas, USC, Michigan and Nebraska probably are, but they've obviously slipping away into obscurity due to the past ~10 years. Nebraska the last 20 years.
Beyond that: LSU, Clemson, Georgia, Penn State, Tennessee and maybe Auburn should all for sure be considered

You literally did the same thing, dude, except you dismissed my opinion entirely without making fun of my (impeccable) grammar. What other argument do you want me to make after you pretty much say, "Yeah...it doesn't matter what you think"?
You've shut down all discussion at that point.

This.
Although Texas is iffy to me. Nebraska is doing everything they can to give up their blue blood membership lol.

Blue bloods are really the traditional teams who have won big over many decades, starting back in the 1920's and 30's. You can talk about teams who have won big relatively recently, i.e. Clemson, LSU, others, but they are not true blue bloods. Florida State would not even be a real blue blood had they continued winning after Bowden, because of their late start in the 70's/80's. Nebraska and Penn State a close call. The REAL blue bloods below:
Alabama
Oklahoma
Sou. Cal
Notre Dame
Ohio State
Michigan
Texas

Notre Dame
Ohio State
Michigan
Texas

Texas has been really inconsistent since Darrell K Royal and that 2004-09 stretch was more the exception than the norm

Agree, they have really fallen hard from the elite, amazing. They have arguably the most loyal fans anywhere; I know for many years that had the most consecutive hard sell outs at home, and had a huge following at away games at long distances.

Despite being absolutely piss poor for the last 10 years, Texas is still #4 all-time in wins and #7 all-time in win percentage.

They were mostly bad from 1984-1994 too. It's not as easy a job as people think. But overall they're still a blue-blood I'd agree

Don't misunderstand me.....LSU is much closer right now than we are.

Princeton has 26 national titles. Are they a blueblood? Yale has 18. Are they?

Neither of them are even in the FBS. So no.
Not making a case for them by any means...but at the time they won those they WERE the FBS for all practical purposes. They were the SEC of their time.

Back when? The vast majority of their national championships were awarded, retroactively, after they left major college football.
So? They were the big players back then. They won more games than anybody else.
We agree on them not counting but we use different reasoning. They don't count because very few teams played back then. Maybe 10-20 teams in the country?

That's great. They haven't done anything in almost 90 years. If we're debating Nebraska's blue blood status after 19 years of being down, Princeton and Yale are definitely out of the conversation.

Texas has lost 3 or more games 30 of the last 40 years with many seasons mixed in with outright losing records. Other than 2001-2009 they've been an average program for a long time.

Ole Miss has more SEC West co-championships than Georgia.

Nobody's opinions matter when you use metrics to gauge things instead of "feelings".
Posted on 10/21/20 at 12:48 pm to Jobu93
These things always just depend on where you want to draw the line on what a blue blood is or isn't.
People forget/discount it but LSU had plenty of success before 2000 and are a top 10ish all time program.
People who like LSU say that's blue blood, people who don't say it isn't.
