God no. Lsu fans spent years shite talking Riley’s coaching abilities, and not to mention A&M for a similar deal with Jimbo

I mean, his resume consists of putting it on cruise control and coasting through the Big XII and then promptly getting blown completely out of the stadium in the first round of the playoffs.

He's done nothing outside of the Big 12...and Oklahoma is the only powerhouse program in that conference.

No way he's proven to be worth close to that... unless getting arse raped in the CFP is a resume booster.

Lot of similarities to Jimbo except Jimbo did happen to get matched up with an inferior Auburn team and was able to win a title that one year.

No, but every agent/coach will be pointing to Mel Tucker getting 10 year 95 million.

I know everyone wants a ready made champ coach, but shouldn’t they get one who can build a foundation for future success?

The recruits are there but is the culture?

Punished? That's how the market works.

Michigan State was stupid for giving Mel that contract.
But that being said every coach in the country will point to that contract as justification for their demands.

OU is in the best position to evaluate his value.

OU could match any offer.

If LSU really has offered him that much money, OU knows it's overpriced, AND they know they can get what they need for less money.

Bob Stoops built the foundation for Riley's success. He didn't have to build anything. He just took over. Can he build that foundation at LSU? Does he even know how?

So every school should pay Saban money for no results, just because one school was dumb enough to give a 10 year contract?
