Lot of fear in here. He’s never had the defensive talent he will have at LSU

Is this the first pre-melt?

You’ve been saying it’s Mark Stoops or BoB for the past two weeks.

Don’t cry little kitten.

Buy a house, then watch the value go up when someone dumbass overpays for a neighbors house down the street, and you may not see it as punishment anymore.

But when someone under sells down the street, then you might.

Bob Stoops built the foundation for Riley's success. He didn't have to build anything. He just took over. Can he build that foundation at LSU? Does he even know how?

Been saying that a few years now. Him and Ryan Day have done nothing. They have built in recruiting. All the facilities. And the championship foundations had already been laid.

Unless his recruiting tactics changed, his roster here will look a lot like it does at OU.

He would need a top notch D coordinator IMO. I think he can succeed if he does that.

For that money, there should be a guarantee of championships. I just don't think Riley can live up to those expectations and will be run out of town in 4-5 years.

Dude, is it really that complicated?

If Walmart starts paying their employees a minimum of 20 bucks an hour then guess what, Kroger and Publix will follow shortly.

If Apple starts paying new hire software engineers 200k a year then guess what, Google & Microsoft will follow shortly.

How does that differ from LSU?

Leaving town and being paid 50-60 million to do so doesn't sound so bad.

He has had more QB success attracting and coaching elite QBs than any coach in NCAA.

We’ve seen what LSU can do with an ELITE talent. LSU has and will always be able to pull more talent on defense than even Oklahoma. He’d be smart to do it and so would LSU.

Riley is a VERY good young coach, if he makes a home run hire At DC, he will succeed immediately..

Because Riley would be starting over. It's not about those schools being better. Just that Riley and Day stepped into jobs they didn't have to build. They took over a machine that was running pretty well. They just had to keep it running.

The comment is more about the coaches abilities and not about the school.

Bingo....Mel at 9.5 is really a stretch.

10 million is going to be the ole Nick Saban 4 million (2007)

I think he’s a great coach, he’ll recruit incredibly well at LSU which he did at OU as well. He did pretty much always lose the big game which would worry me a little bit. The DC hire will be incredibly important

yeah. I never did buy that you were actually an Ohio State fan. Just another LSU alter.

That aside, willing to pay a coach to come to LSU more than even Nick Saban makes reeks of desperation. Nick Saban has proved he's worth the money, with 7 national titles, and one every other year on average the last 12 years. Riley, just for an example, has never won a national title, so he'd certainly not be worth 2 to 5 million more than Saban, even if he were to come, which he isn't.

despertion
