Is Jordan Hare Stadium the toughest place to play in the SEC?

What do y’all think? I know my team and others have not had much luck there lately and it seems like a very tough place to win now days.

I'm biased, but I'd say so considering the swamp and death valley have seemed less hostile of late.

It's a close 3 way race when UF and LSU are humming, IMO.

Isn't Aggy undefeated there?

When Auburn is highly ranked and another highly ranked team comes into town, I don't think there is a more intimidating place to play in the SEC or even college football for that matter. Anything less than that, however, and it's pretty ordinary sounding in there.

Generally, I subscribe to the mindset that how good a team is is far more important to "home field advantage" or toughest places to play compared to the structure itself or the fans.

When any of the big 6 are really peaking and playing well you could make a case that they're all on the same level of toughness.

No.

It's a tough place to play for sure because Auburn has been good. The stadium is beautiful, and one of my favorite SEC road trips, but it's not exactly intimidating. I don't think anyone steps on the field and is intimidated by the stadium or fans there.

Attended the 04 LSU/AUB game with an Auburn buddy of mine. Day game...stadium was crazy loud, Ronnie Prude leaping penalty game. Electric heavyweight atmosphere.

Even if you don't want to put Auburn #1 in this category this is a terrible take

Some of those Tuberville-era LSU/AU games were absolute wars

Maybe not the toughest, but hardest to get a call go your way.

Last year, definitely.

LSU and UF can be louder.

Bryant Denny is a lot better than it was pre Saban, for big games at least.

UGA and UT are a class below

Not really about rankings but match ups for the most part. Although as the season progresses also does aid in a bit if there are extremes(like 2012) Hell 2012 LSU Auburn was a very loud game

I have been to about 8 stadiums in the SEC. It's certainly Tier 1. LSU IMO is right there with it. I give bama credit they have stepped up the game of late.

Florida can be at that level. The outlier to me is USCe. I have always been impressed with the energy they bring even back in the days where they were a 6 or 7 win team.

Definitely my most intense rival during my college years, 2000-05.

But that's pretty much true for every stadium and every sport. I can't think of an environment that is electric for overmatched opponents.

And you're right, it's not just rankings. If Ole Miss or MSU come in at #5 in the country, you're still not going to get the same energy you would for LSU at #5 (it'll still be good, of course).
