Who is a known OU QB pre Josh Huepel that an average college football fan should know rather than a OU die hard?

Jamelle Hollieway?
The first true freshman to ever lead his team to a National Title?

We’ll take him off your hands.

They are funding most of the NIL money for the rest of the team
Texas doesn’t own companies like Uber, Vuori, and Panini America that have deals with our QBs

The dude helped bring Texas back. He was money well spent.

Don't get me wrong. I kinda like the guy. But "loyal to Texas" is pretty funny considering he pocketed a million from Ohio State then left for Texas, who handed him no telling how many more millions.

Ewers will lead to a lot more QBs staying extra years in college
He was offered more money in NIL to stay an extra year in college than he will get paid over the next 4 years combined in the NFL
Unless you are certain to go first round (I.e Caleb Williams and Cam Ward), it makes more sense to stay in school

Not even close. Just go look at all of he top 5 QB's that have come out of high school since him. Many of them were also paid massive amounts of money and haven't been nearly as successful as Ewers.

Looks like Carson Beck played his cards about as well as you can.

His side gig in Fansville as a Deputy took his focus off football.

Honestly, when the dust settles, Carson likely would have gone early first round, not because he is a phenomenal qb but because there were no others with his measurable and arm.

Big deal. Tale as old as time. High profile HS QB doesn't turn into a high pick in a draft. Why is it any different because it happened with the backdrop of NIL?

Sark just confirmed (at the TD Club of Houston) Ewers didn’t receive any money from Texas’ NIL collective. His NIL was earned through his actual Name, Image, and Likeness

Just because the money doesn't go through a collective doesn't mean he wasn't getting pay to play NIL.
It just means it wasn't from donations to the collective.

It literally means he was getting paid based for his brand. Not pay for play. Austin ( unlike every other SEC college town) is a city. There are far more opportunists for NIL deals, thus the collective doesn't have to work as hard.
