Is Dillingham a better QB coach than Kiffin?

Let’s look at the evidence:

In 20 games at ASU, Leavitt had 9 INTs (0.5/gm)

In 2 games at LSU, he already has 4 (2.0/gm) which is more than all of 2025 and almost as many as 2024.

And this isn’t a one time thing. First year Kiffin QBs have a history of throwing picks. Corral threw 14 in 2020, Dart had 11 in 2022, and in only 2 games last year Austin Simmons had 4.

Feels like a concerning trend - all QBs improved in year 2 but year 1 was rough.

You had a problem with Kiffin's QB development skills when he was at Ole Miss?

QB development is usually not measured by how a coach’s QBs do in their first year in the system.

Seems like a flawed way to make your argument. I’d think using individual QB trends (how did each starting QB develop over the time guided by a coach) and ultimate peak (how far did the coach get them from where they started) might make more sense.

So year 1 in a new system wasn’t as good as year 2?

I’ll take that over the reverse.

If Dillingham is so great, why would Leavitt throw any ints at this point?

So you’re ok sacrificing this year and hoping Leavitt is better next year?

Also, unlike the other QBs, Leavitt is actively getting worse at LSU.

I’m not cherry picking stats to this one year.

You said his qbs are typically bad in year 1 and better in year 2.

You find that to be a problem. I can only surmise that you would prefer qbs be better in year 1 and worse in year 2. Seems counter intuitive but you do you I guess.

Leavitt will throw for 350+ yards on Saturday.

No one is ok sacrificing anything. He had a bad half because the Oline couldn't run block and he started pressing. That's always been the book on him. It will either be coached out of him or the backup will get more reps.

According to cfbstats.com, only 2 QBs have thrown from 350 yards against Golding at Ole Miss: Jayden Daniels (2023) and KJ Jefferson (2024). And both of them lost. So good luck with that

Yep... the OP has figured it out, Lane isn't really a good QB coach at all. But then again, it must have been someone else that worked with last year's ole piss QB.

OM fans are shitting in their pants, insist on putting LK down. You only do that out of fear and having your fingers crossed that you are right.Get over the fact that LK left and have some faith in your team and quit throwing shite against the wall and hope something sticks.

I never denied Kiffin is an elite play caller. But he is not a QB whisperer like Dan Mullen who takes average QBs and makes them look elite (Chris Relf and Kyle Trask for example).

Given first year struggles under Kiffin it is fair to ask why Leavitt is playing even worse than he did at ASU - where he was hardly elite to begin with.

It's been two games.

Holy overreaction.

Are you saying Leavitt will only throw 8-9 more picks over the last 13 games?

I’ll take it

Only 11 games left in LSU’s season, but nice try. I’m saying he is on pace for 24 picks this year

I’d be surprised if it gets above 15 but who knows.

I mean, we have an actually good QB so his offense would have worked great. Kiffin with Chambliss wins 12+ games this year. Leavitt will be lucky to win 10

So the HC is the one that develops the QB?? In that case, we need Ed O back ASAP, because look what he did developing Burrow,

You do realize he missed the last 5 games of 2025 right?
