You're exactly correct. Addiction is a money maker for everyone involved except the addict.

The amount of abject ignorance of this subject by ppl asserting uneducated opinions in this thread is pretty sad. This has a lot to do with why addicts do not seek treatment. Ppl like you have attached such a stigma to the disease that ppl are hesitant to seek help bc of fear of being shamed and labeled.

Yeah. There’s a lot of grannies knocking over liquor stores for their temazepam.

Is uncle Nate still following Johnny around giving him advice?

That is probably what he needs. A trusted family member can help cure diseases and keep them from spreading to other parts of the body.

A lot of times, uncles are a voice of reason when the father isn't around or isn't considered to be cool.

I'll forgive your ignorance seeing as how you're a Mizzou fan and that is an unhealty addiction of its own.

My God man, he played in the NFL. He played in the CFL. He played in the AAFL.

You don't just do that because, hey, I want to. You have to be the very best at what you do to even be considered.

Your medical and pharmacy boards, as well as the DEA, would disagree. Narcotics are classified on a 5 schedule classification scale and all controlled substances (including benzos and barbituates and a host of other types of drugs such as adderall) are included within these classifications.

You are a nurse. I am not. "All that wheezes is not asthma" just like all controlled substances are not narcotics. I'll depart from the discussion now.

It's not a disease. It's a choice. It's a choice I made many, many times in my life before I decided to do something about it.

Addiction is 100% a disease. The uncontrollable urge to satisfy the dopamine uptake receptors in the brain, is 100% physiological, and 0% psychological.

I have changed my ways after meeting with my church group after work yesterday.

While reading scripture I now feel for this man and hope he gets the help he needs.

he will be in my thoughts and prayers

Of all the bad life choices Manziel made, proposing to this self absorbed instagram skank has to be his worst decision. He became the trophy husband, of a trash person.

She was out of there weeks after she got the ring, then appealing for sympathy online. She was probably thinking of her wedding posts during the vows.

I saw all I needed to see on the day he was drafted by the NFL. He walked onto the stage after his name was called rubbing his fingers together to symbolize the money he was about to get.

That’s not what that gesture symbolized.
It went back to his HS days, then caught on as a celebratory deal with his A&M teammates.
It was never a literal motion.
