No but if my team falls as far in a year as LSU did I probably would be worried

Why would I be worried? They could go 3-9. Life goes on. I love LSU, but I love CFB also.

Seems like a question that was also asked during integration.

I’m not sure how that set of circumstances applies here. People were worried about more than just football with that specific issue.

Expanding the CFP, rising ticket prices, and NIL mean nothing in the big world.

To me if you get nil money than opt out should not be allowed
If you opt out you pay nil money back

I'm not worried in the least. What will be, will be. Who gaf? I certainly don't.

So you really don't care about the sport. That's fine.

You should really stop with this false dichotomy.
You're either too young, or too naive to have a clue about what NIL is going to do to amateur sports.
I realize that money is involved in colleges sport, but this will open the flood gates to all the negatives that money will do to destroy the college game.

It will be a complete mess within 5-7 years if not sooner.

It will have lost its magic of what keeps us coming here and jawing at each other over our school. You can see some of the shine come of of it I. Just the last couple of years.

The transfer portal is horrible and so will be NIL. There could have been a better way to help these kids more but NIL is not the answer. Time will tell and I will be ecstatic to be wrong.

Nah, everybody loves the transfer portals, the opt outs, the players demanding to be paid and the woke movement. Nothing to see here.

Not to mention NO college or person aside maybe from their parents is MAKING them play the game of football. They've been taking that chance since peewee football days, they make the choice to play just like players did 100 years ago.

I call bullshite on won't be able to walk rest of their lives excuse. Not the school's fault

Not concerned either. Programs like Mizzou have always been and will always be behind the eight ball.

Apparently someone does because the NFL just signed their most lucrative TV deal ever and TV revenue is at an all time in CFB.

But you're on a CFB message board in the middle of May discussing CFB?

But "nearly zero" interest in the sport?

I'm afraid you're absolutely right. These kids and "non-thinkers" can't conceptualize what this is going to end up being...sad.

Very good post and I agree. It’s going to cease being a product that differs from the NFL. Hell we already have free agent college players due to the portal.

Factor in opt outs from bowls becoming the norm, which may spread to regular season games.

You know that will happen. As soon as a program is out of the national title hunt I bet we will see in-season opt outs.

I love good SEC football, but the trend is alarming.

Imagine TJ Ribs reaches out to Myles Brennan to do a commercial. Brennan films a commercial with them, saying come eat at TJ Ribs. Due to his position as a popular LSU player, more people come to eat. TJ Ribs pays Brennan and they go their separate ways. I see absolutely nothing wrong with that.

Perhaps I misunderstood the rule but I don't believe tj ribs payment to Myles Brennan is any way factored off more people coming to eat ribs. I mean what's to keep phil knight from giving every five star player in the country to be endorsed by Nike straight out of highschool? How does that work? The only donors that have the money to go toe to toe with someone like that probably don't care that much. I just feel like we're in a slippery slope and these kids are already fvcking ego maniacs. They like release rap songs to anounce their top 10 schools. Im not against figuring out something but I think this is going to be absurd. Like YouTubers fighting retired basketball players in a boxing Match level absurd.

Hell, you didn’t even mention the worst thing that has become of college football....targeting. I think it’s a travesty that two players that are going full speed, juking, jiving, shuffling, stopping, starting all in one motion and they accidentally bump helmets and the defensive player is frickING EJECTED for that. No hard hits, no crack back blocks. Just pussy bleeding football.

The NCAA is attempting to ruin the best sport in the land.

The changes in transfer rules, plus NIL, are more significant than rules changes, NCAA regulations, etc.

And they are not for the better. We just became more like the NFL. I don't watch the NFL.

A football game shouldn't last more than 4 hours.

I'm discussing my current lack of interest in college football. Check my posts and you'll see the rest are all baseball, basketball and so on. I don't even bother looking at the football posts anymore, because they're all the same.

So you wouldn't be interested if Arky turned into a top 10 program?

Isn't it the reason for the baseball/basketball interest?

Not a dig and I'd probably be a bigger college basketball fan if UGA had Arky's success
