My interest has dropped to nearly zero. I could stop watching altogether and I wouldn't miss much.

Count me one as not worried:
Opt outs in the who cares bowl? So what, those bowls are used to develop next years team anyway if you don't have a chance at the playoffs.
Transfer Portal.. Most leaving weren't getting to play or were processed. A few big names may move but that's not a big deal to me. It may help State field a better team. So there is that.
Getting Paid? Why the freak not, some guys won't be able walk normally for the rest of their lives. Let them get as much as they can.
Vocal on topics... So what, that brings debate which can help. They won't always be right or wrong but neither is anyone.
What about game day attendance? TV Contracts more than make up the $$$. There may be some stadium changes to reduce seating capacity to increase chair backs or luxury boxes to maximize $$$ but that's good too.
I think College football is just fine.
Parity? What Parity? Mississippi State will still be the smallest SEC school with the least resources. We just hold out hope for that one magical season and enjoy the games and tailgating.

Not winning a conference game for several years kind of does that to a fan base. I know, been there.
Let the hogs have a good team. I would bet that may change for a lot of Hawg fans and possibly even you.

Everywhere I go I see it.

Parity? What Parity?
Up until about 25 years ago, the powers of college football were fairly evenly spread out among the major conferences.
Pac-10: USC, Cal, Washington, Arizona State
Big Ten: Ohio State, Michigan, Wisconsin, Penn State
Big 12: Texas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Kansas State, Texas A&M
ACC: Florida State ( )
SEC: Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Tennessee
Independents: Miami and Notre Dame
While not every team won a national championship in the intervening period, many of them felt like they were one or two games or players away from being at that level.
In the present day, the entirety of the Pac-10 (sans maybe Oregon) no longer really cares about college football. Oklahoma is now the only power in the Big 12 though Texas might be on the rise again. The ACC has swapped Florida State for Clemson and the SEC is essentially Alabama, LSU, and Georgia. The Big Ten is nothing but Ohio State.

Is anybody here worried about what CFB is becoming?
This NIL insanity will change the foundation of the college game, not even to mention this transfer crap.

I'm not worried in the least. What will be, will be. Who gaf? I certainly don't.

Can you please explain how this will work?
How much do the players make?
Do they all make the same amount?
Do all schools pay the same amount?
If so, where does the money come from?
Are scholarships eliminated?
Room and board?
Is this income taxable?
Etc etc etc
And I’m not trying to be a smartass...
I’ve just never seen anybody and I mean anybody....explain how paying players would work.

As much as anyone is willing to pay.

Not likely.

I don't think much money will be coming from the schools.

No.

No.

Yes. Why wouldn't it?

I don't know. I don't think the particulars are necessary at the current moment. The details can be negotiated amongst conferences. I feel it more important to start the conversation rather than having all the details finalized now.

You should really stop with this false dichotomy.

That’s because an academic overachiever is coming to the university for a product
The DL is the product.
It’s unfortunate that’s how it is. It’s backwards. What product is the academic achiever coming to a university for? A piece of paper I guess.
The DL may be the product, but he comes for the exposure. It’s assumed that universities benefit greatly from these athletes, which is obviously true. But these athletes are given everything they need at major schools. The road goes both ways.

The astounding lack of parity that was accelerated by the playoff killed college football. Sure everything’s great for the top SEC powers but the sport is dying elsewhere. As someone said earlier the fan base is getting older and the rich are getting richer. NIL could help bring back a little parity, but it could also widen the chasm as well. I think regardless college football reached its height in the late 2000s and now it has begun the downward trend.

Likeness and image are here. BAMA has a game plan and has explained how it works. Kids still don't know what that means economically and neither does anyone else.
I would suspect that the NCAA is going to struggle to define amateurism with the same old dictionary and broad-brush going forward. Cheating may never be defined the same again. Which, in turn, may end up being the best thing to ever happen to college football.

Imagine TJ Ribs reaches out to Myles Brennan to do a commercial. Brennan films a commercial with them, saying come eat at TJ Ribs. Due to his position as a popular LSU player, more people come to eat. TJ Ribs pays Brennan and they go their separate ways. I see absolutely nothing wrong with that.

No but if my team falls as far in a year as LSU did I probably would be worried

I’m wondering if and when things will go too far and the popularity of the sport will dwindle.
It’s already dwindled. The days of fans storming the field over a WAC title are gone.
CFB is already such an inferior product to what it was just 10 years ago that I don’t see much reason to worry about it at this point.

Hasn't destroyed the Olympics yet. But we have to watch NBA, NFL, Soccer, PGA guys, etc., get it on in amateur sports and people keep watching. Even the sprinters and marathon runners and every Olympic athlete with a pulse have been able to cut their own deals and more of the better known are well past millionaire status and they still qualify for so-called "amateur" sport. Wonder what Usain Bolt and Simone Biles are worth these days? They've all been making millions off their likeness since the 1992 Olympics. Yet we keep watching.
My guess, we keep watching our beloved football teams too.

Seems like a question that was also asked during integration.
