If you partner up pods, the full rotation will be in 6 years. It also changes up who will be in the SECCG.
Year 1 - pods AB winner vrs. pods CD winner
Year 2 - pods AC winner vrs. pods BD winner
Year 3 - pods AD winner vrs. pods CB winner
*going forward, just flip host location every 3-year cycle
This gives you a 9 game schedule while keeping rivalries intact.
3 games against pod members
4 games against partnered pod
1 game against rival from non-partnered pod
1 game against rival from other non-partnered pod
HOWEVER, 1 - figuring out who's in each pod, 2 - doing a 2H/2A with the partnered pod, & 3 - rotating H/A with your non-partnered pod rivals ALL WHILE keeping a 5H/4A & 4H/5A yearly rotation is becoming difficult to figure out.

This is why divisions have to go and although I like the pods idea, it’s too cumbersome. You get 3 permanent opponents and 5 rotating and everybody gets to play everybody home and away in a 4 year span

9 games should have been an automatic decision when we added TA&M & Mizz..
But don't believe any swaps will occur nor the c-d games be removed.
& before you even ask, there is NO WAY to do a balanced schedule by having some teams keep the c-d game while the rest of the conf. doesn't. I've already played with that idea several months ago & got like a 12 year H/A rotation for c-d teams while non c-d teams only took 7 (to start off with the same team for another cycle).....or somewhere close to those #'s.

Is an Auburn move to the SEC East imminent?
This is why divisions have to go and although I like the pods idea, it’s too cumbersome. You get 3 permanent opponents and 5 rotating and everybody gets to play everybody home and away in a 4 year span
Which will then require several tie-breakers to determine who should be ranked above whom due to little common opponents. Divisions allow you to do that with 1/2 the conference.

Though it would make sense travel wise,if it's not broke, don't fix it.

Everyone gets to keep their most important traditional rivalry game and we see everyone in the conference at least every other year
SEC fans get the annual Florida vs Auburn game back
We get ahead of the 9 game conference caveat by passing a rule that requires each team to schedule 2 P5 games every year
OR
we negotiate with the NCAA to make the rule be that any SEC team that plays 2 P5 games is open for playoff consideration even with an 8 game schedule, that allows for teams that are more concerned with a bowl bid to schedule only one, schools that want to be eligible for a playoff spot must schedule 2
pods don't make sense unless everyone gets to also keep at least one rival game, preserving TSIO & DSOR are important and I doubt that the conference sacrifices those games

I am.fine with tie breakers if it means I get to see LSU, Bama, Ole Miss & aTm twice every 4 years
waiting 8, or a dozen or whatever years for a chance to tailgate in Oxford or Baton Rouge sucks
tie breakers? meh, I can live with that kind of controversy...

Scared to play Florida?
I hope we always play them.

It’s way past time to blow up the antiquated permanent opponents crap.
Or we could move to a 9-game conference schedule that allows for two permanent opponents and one that switches every two years?

I support this. Auburn has always had more in common with the SEC east schools anyway.

So what is I'ld rather keep divisions or pods that easily determine this than sit & calculate tie-breakers between everybody in the SEC.
&, as I said above, the pod rotation prevents the same teams making the SECCG each year.

Something needs to be done and will be done, it is only a matter of when.

Never trust Finebaum.
But I would love to get Fl back every year.

It's fun to think that things are still done in the name of "tradishun" when the league readily lifted its skirt to Texas and Missouri TV markets.
Quaint.

Misery should STFU and get down on their knees every day and give thanks the SEC took them instead of East Carolina or the like. Hell, we’d be getting about the same bang for our buck. When you get a tradition someday (besides SJWs) you can talk about it. Until then, know your place, peasant!

You can do 3 permanent opponents with 9 conference games rotate 6 of the 10 teams and play everyone 3 times every 5 years

Auburn should move to the ACC division without Clemson.
That way the AL state rivalry will be a SEC-ACC clash like other southern states.

Bama and Auburn to the East, Vanderbilt and Mizzou to the West. Auburn won’t move unless Bama tells them to, and Bama is getting scared of Jimbo.

Does Auburn really want to play the Iron Bowl and a potential rematch a week later if they would win the East.
I'm perfectly happy staying in the West but I do miss the Florida games. That said, your comment doesn't make sense considering the fact that we had to play Georgia, Alabama and then Georgia again two years ago. I would have rather played Georgia the following week instead of giving them three weeks to correct what went wrong.
