Yet again, only LSU complains about c-d games.

Long time AU fans want to move to the East because they remember playing UT and UF every year. Most fans do not get excited with Ark, Ole Miss and T&M on the season ticket schedule. Even the LSU Game is not something either side gets too excited about.

Regardless of how Auburn is now the perma bitch for LSU, Georgia and Alabama, the SEC needs to get rid of these antiquated early 20th century "rivalries" and move to a rotating schedule where everybody gets to play everybody instead of these protected games and schedules.

I grew up going to TSIO games at Legion Field which were just epic, epic games.

Sadly, I have to agree with you given how the SEC has expanded and the lack of seeing cross-division teams on a more frequent basis. It's not just Bama-UT, the DSOR is game that should still be played.

I have defended the TSIO, but the separation between the two programs has grown to such an extent and the conference has grown, maybe its time to give it up.

14 teams is probably too big for a college conference. 12 teams with 1 permanent and 2 rotating works well enough albeit still flawed. No divisions with 3 permanents with 5 rotating on and off would still keep these games every year or every other year and make competitive balance as good as you can reasonably make it. Alabama would still play Tennessee every other year or back to back on/back to back off.

The 9 game schedule requires the ACC's schedule format change too (GT, FSU, Clemson, & Louisville).

Of the big six we’re the only ones placed with a non traditional rival. It’s not that we don’t want to play Florida, it’s that we’re tired of seeing other schools skate by with easier cd games. If Tennessee showed any kind of consistent pulse the last 15 years it wouldn’t be as much of an issue.

The bridge schedules really brought it to light as Bama was playing Tennessee and Missou while we played Florida and Georgia. I’m sure it was just a coincidence though

SEC WON'T split same state schools. So forget about Vandy headed West unless TN is going with them (or Aub. East with Ala.).

Scared to play Florida every year, so that checks out.

Not scared to play Auburn since we've beat you at your place multiple times since you last won at LSU.

Your next 4 seasons (2014, 2015, 2016, 2017) your East opponents were a combined 25-39 in the SEC. Only 2 of the 8 even had winning SEC records.

USC is not a rival for UGA. This has been debated plenty of times in the past.

LSU can win at Auburn, but never win the west. These must be some of those “didn’t matter” type wins UGA and Alabama fans told me about in 2017

Okay. I don’t want an easier schedule. I want a balanced schedule, or at least as balanced a schedule as can be reasonably created. Giving one school a permanent game against a former power who faces more challenges in the modern era than others at the top rung of the conference is the opposite of that.

I do too. The pod system is the best compromise of having a core group of consistent rivals that makes college football great, playing your entire league and having somewhat equitable schedules (based on prior year performances).

But it's radical and probably won't happen anytime soon.

Yet LSU was QUIET about c-d games when Tn. kept beating Alabama in the 90's!!!

Coincidence?

sorry, forgot you guys won it in 2011. How’d that work out?

LSU will never beat Saban again, and LSU will never win the west again as a result. :(
