Clemson had an all-time DL and spent half the season prepping for Tua because they play in the ACC and could sleep walk through their regular season opponents with grad assistants coming up with their game plans.

I usually ignore stupid comments but this is one of the stupidest ever. Clemson had a month to plan for their first Playoff game, and probably had the game plan ready in about 10 days, and tweaked it as they saw any injury reports.. The rest of the time they looked at the other two possible opponents and game-planned for them. Then, after the first playoff game was over they fine-tuned their plan for Bama.

Everyone knows the key to beating Bama is disrupting their RPOs but the problem is stuffing their running game first and foremost.
Ya see scrooster, that's where Alabama fricked up. Clemson didn't "stuff" Alabama's running game (Alabama's running backs averaged over 5 yards per carry). Alabama stopped running the football.....and why we'll never know.

These quotes are stupid...Clemson's NFL 1st rounders straight whipped bama's OL. It wasn't disguising, etc...

I mentioned ONE physical team. I talked about GOOD teams. Oklahoma is a very good football team. You will lie to keep from telling the truth won't you boy?

They are better. But the thing is, if they are or aren't, you don't let a QB stand back there all day and pick them apart, now do you?

Especially when he has shown he doesn't like to get his shirt dirty. You send more than they can block and make him take the heat. I still contend it wasn't Sunshine that beat us , it was an outstanding day by the Clemson receivers.

Make them have another one. We can stop the Clemson run. We pretty much did until very late last year. Use a Mississippi State Game plan and blitz him into the stone age.

2 of the GOOD teams you mentioned:

State - 5 losses (bowl loss to Iowa)

Auburn - 5 losses (loss to Tennessee)

As others have said, we dropped 440 yards on Clemson. They only had 40 more yards than we did.

Sometimes weird games happen. That’s why most other sports play a best of 5 or 7 to decide the champion. A lot of times the winner of the series gets blown out in one of the games. In one game, anything can happen. It’s not often you see two teams separated by 40 total yards, and 28 points.

And those teams would have drilled most of Clemson's schedule, if not all of it.

You haven't discussed Clemson's schedule AT ALL.Stop running boy, I am calling them, and YOU, OUT.

Seriously?

I didn't even watch the game, but I bet I can guess why.

Alabama was running primarily an RPO offense. The QB has the option to run, hand the ball off or pass depending on how he reads the defense. If he's not calling any running plays based on the defense he sees, the defense must be showing him something that he decides to throw on.

In a previous thread, a Clemson player was quoted as saying they were disguising their coverage really well.

There you have it, it's no mystery. The REAL mystery is why so many people don't understand why a team might stop running the ball after having initial success with it (UGA vs LSU, 2018). It almost ALWAYS involves adjustments to the defense to take the run away.

Duh.

#16 A&M @ A&M (9 wins)
#15 Syracuse (10 wins)
#3 Notre Dame (12 wins)
#1 Alabama (14 wins)

Others:
- 8 win Duke (when they had the #6 overall pick at QB)
- 9 win NC State (I admit they stink)
- 7 win Wake
- 7 win USofC
- 7 win BC

Keep in mind - 7 of Alabana's 12 regular season opponents:
- 5 win Ole Miss
- 5 win Tennessee
- 2 win Arkansas
- 2 win Louisville
- ULL
- Arkansas State
- Citadel

...boy.

In the final AP top 25, it turns out that Alabama faced 4 of the top 7 teams Clemson? 2

BAMA will still run the RPO, but the offense is going to look a little different this season. Sark will have him going through progressions post snap instead of simply relying on presnap reads.

SEC teams have to actually plan for their next game. They can't take time to dedicate all resources to studying a game 4, 5, 9 games down the road.
Damn!! I did not think of it that way. Great fricking point bro. No one in the SEC gets a week off, not even Bama.

No one in the SEC has the studs Clemson has, nor the DC.

Clemson is the new gorilla on the block.

But it was obvious that Tua was seeing some things he didn't like as well as the year went on....but no one destroyed him like Clemson.

Wrong. ND finished 5. And it took 1 to stop us, no one else could. What I said stands. And the first team you faced in the regular season? Where were they ranked..boy?

You played 2 teams ranked in the final AP Top 25 and one of them was Texas A&M....a common opponent with Alabama.

You cruised to the playoffs.

Alabama running backs carried 31 times for over 5 yards per carry. Clemson didn't take away the run, Tua/coaching staff got away from it when Alabama went down in the 2nd quarter.
