Penn State had 1 point lead (in the 4th quarter) over a team that had their cheeks clapped by the team that had their cheeks clapped by Vandy.

If you want to keep the football playoffs from having a commiserate number then you have to ditch the AQs.
Doubt any of the conferences outside of the SEC and Big10 will agree though.

Yes conference champs in no matter what if they are no good they will lose , that’s what they said about southern football til Bama whipped azz starting in 1925 , no assumptions

Okie St is 0-7 in big 12 play and beat Arkansas who beat Tennessee. Also Arizona st beat miss st. I think BYU would do just fine lol

I don’t think we need aq, but to assume the 6th place sec team would beat any conference champs is a stretch. The sec wasn’t exactly lighting the world on fire in non con. Auburn lost to a cal team that is winless in acc play, ok state beat arky, ga state beat vandy, lsu lost to usc, Miami pounded Florida. None of those teams appear in over their heads in conference play.

Boise State lost by 3 at Oregon, Texas lost by 15 to UGA at home.
Boise is clearly better than Texas by eye test and on field play against top teams.

Indiana is 100% legit, I'd suggest you check their transfers. And BYU will probably be a tough out as well, the Utah teams are always ignored, but when they're good, they're legit. See 2008 Utah, 2004 Utah, 1996 BYU, etc

If IU makes the playoffs they beat Ohio State and Oregon. Please compare Texas 2 best wins to that.

I think IU makes the playoff at 11-1 unless OSU destroys them. They wont be in their championship game most likely.
