Over the years here & there, ISU's been good at both football and basketball. And they're an AAU member since the 50's.
I know that they've had moments, but their historical football record is more than 100 games below .500, and their basketball is only slightly above .500.

I’m not going to sit here and claim OU is some academic powerhouse, but for you to say Tech has higher standards is complete nonsense.
Capacity seems to be the overriding factor in getting into OU.
an average of 1203 on the SAT, an average of 26 on the ACT and an rough average unweighted GPA of 3.5
Tech has similar entry requirements with a higher standard in math. A lower % of Tech applicants are accepted.

The funny thing is, I have no issues with A&M and most OU fans don't either. Y'all are bitching and moaning for what? whether it's in '22, '25, or somewhere in between, we will be in the SEC and you guys should be pumped, you get to take the Longhorns to the woodshed again. You can call OU a lackey program and all that other crap, the fact is, you don't have the history and accolades that OU does. Did you kick the shite out of us in 2013? You bet your arse you did, but that was 8 years ago, let's live in the present. I think A&M is going to have a great year, especially if the QB situation gets figured out sooner than later.

Tennessee acting like an academic powerhouse. Amusing.

Dude. You're on a SEC board with SEC in your username.. constantly bitching about being in the SEC. It's pointless. Not funny, nobody's melting, etc. I'm just trying to help but go on if you must.
He’s some kid playing on a message board.

True Story —
As posted above, not claiming OU is an academic giant …. but to say Texas Tech is superior …. PLEASE!!!
I was at a lake in Texas last summer with friends and strangers. All these Tech people were “Okie Bashing” …. going on and on ….
Never mind they couldn’t complete a coherent sentence ….
Never mind Tech is inferior to 1/2 the high schools in Oklahoma.
My God!!!!!

I've lived in OKC metro for the past 22 years, and I'm sorry but this is just not true. OU fans have a weird complex about A&M that I haven't quite figured out.

Not really. Just pointing out that getting accepted at OU isn’t hard and easier than Tech.

Maybe it's just me, but I have no issues with A&M and never really have. Kyle Field is an amazing place to visit and a great college football atmosphere. When the Big XII baseball tournament was in OKC at the Brick I had some great A&M fans invite me over to their tailgate. So for me, I don't see the issue.

Whatever ….
Many of OU’s graduate programs are selective …. much more so than Tech!! When I was in law school (back in the day) it was common knowledge that those failing to get into OU could fall back to Tech.

There really aren’t any issues. Only really played against each other consistently in the Big 12 years. Can’t comment on Roscoe’s stories from OKC, but generally my experience is that it’s just the usual talk about what happens on the field.

K-State and OSU are going to wreck shop in the AAC.

furthermore, why wouldn’t they want Baylor or TCU?
Baylor and TCU have fairly small fanbases and dont bring the ratings.
Texas Tech would do a hell of a lot more to bring Texas TVs in to the mix.
