The best part is Saban had a better win % against Alabama when he was at LSU than the other way around. 58-50 without Saban the last 25 years.

And were a controversial committee decision away from being in the CFP despite an absolute implosion at QB down the stretch.

IF he can’t win at a clip that they demand, KD will be fired.

Football is paramount at most SEC schools.

I’m not sure they will “expect” Saban results, but they will expect a consistent top 10 presence and most years to either be in playoffs or the playoff conversation.

I don’t think they can him. CKD has won everywhere he’s been so I would not bet against him being able to win at Alabama.

Mike Dubose won an SEC title at Alabama. Mike Shula won 10 games.
Either of those results gets you in playoffs.

That's a really sad thing to say out loud, and to post on a message board.

They hired a poor man’s Urban Meyer!

Urban has 3 nattys with two different schools and a bcs bowl victory with utah(pretty sure they beat pitt to be the first non p5 to win a bcs bowl). Brian Kelly couldnt even fathom being a poor man’s Meyer.

I am a tiger but this is stupid. Bama is Bama like them or not and until my tigers consistently beat them it’s still the same.

Too early to say that. This Alabama team is talented and DeBoer can coach. He took Washington to the NC game.

They won't be as dominant as in the Saban era...but they wouldn't be as dominant with Saban because now $$$$$ talks and there is more money in Texas than their are churches in Alabama.

Texas and Texas A&M are the true power houses of the SEC.

The semblance of parity has gone from college sports.

wow. It's kind of sad that Alabama's football team has that much impact on your well being, but kind of cool too.

The revisionist history about Saban’s last year at LSU is funny. That 2004 LSU team was a flag (Auburn extra point) from being in a BCS bowl. 9-2 in the regular season.

As an LSU fan I am embarrassed by your thread. By you own logic, Bama's "average" is equivalent to LSU's best run in school history. How about we let them actually have a bad year before we make such stupid statements.

Auburn fans are worse overall and Tennessee fans are the scum of the Earth, but I'm not sure anyone is as plain weird as LSU's fanbase is when it comes to Alabama football.

I'm thinking they will wake up about the end of September. I generally agree with OP. How is DeBust's very first recruiting class at Alabama going? Currently barely holding on to the 9th spot with 5 total guys signed. This is where you can see the future of Alabama football. We will see by year end and maybe he can make up ground but it looks like he's falling behind bigly.

How many years in a row will this be that someone has called Alabama's recruiting "dead" about this time of year, only to be proven wildly wrong by the time recruiting classes are actually signed? But maybe this will be the year! You should definitely team up with Stidham08 and start a thread about it!
