After a little quick research he seemed to regress a bit at Northern Illinois before moving to Temple, had a decent year for them. Hard to tell. I mean he doesn't have much to go with player wise at those schools but neither do the teams he's playing. At least you're not promoting Derek F'ing Dooley so you got that going for you, which is kinda nice.

Anyone that thinks he cant coach needs to look at what he did at Northern Illinois. Here are the P5 teams he took down when coached there

2013 Iowa, Purdue
2014 Northwestern
2017 Nebraska
BYU isn't P5 but they beat them in 2018

all of his bowl losses came when he was at Northern Illinois

This guy can get it done.

If true this is hilarious. Northern Illinois fans were really glad to get rid of him

Missouri getting NIU's sloppy seconds leftovers

NIU fans wanted him gone. That should tell you all you need to know.

Was a very similar dynamic to LSU fans and Les Miles.

Hell yeah. Sign him for a long contract before a NFL team scoops him up.

Just heard that in his playiing days he was a darned good center. As crappy as our O-line was this year, he can probably be a big help.

It is a done deal. The Mizzou basketball team is playing Temple tomorrow and I am here in Philly for the game. Personally saw Sterk and Carey at Geno's last night.

Matt just didn't have a good goon control program. Can't let your players go around peeing on stuff.

Local Philly radio station reported that a Temple player said he didn't know who'd they'd be playing for next year.

Things are sure fitting together. Guess we'll see how he does. Sounds like a decent hire to me.

Why does everyone keep saying this. I know he has a pretty good record there but he got absolutely throttled by the 2019 vols and we all know they werent very good. Maybe the guy at North Texas?

I like Clark as well.

It's just hard to argue with going to 4 conference championship games in 6 years and winning two. Beating 5 P5 teams in those 6 years makes his case very strong.

Didn't he used to be a great hitter for the Twins and Angels back in the day? I don't know what connection he might have with Mizzou.
