The moment when ‘The Battle Hymn Of the Republic’ comes in is incredible.

Which is why I don’t get the hatred for the song. It’s not a confederate song. Ole Miss created it as a mesh of both Dixie and Battle Hymn of the Republic, it’s a song meant to symbolize unity between the north and south.

Dixie was before the Civil War in 1860. It was a favorite of Abe Lincoln.

As dumb as those MFer are you could bring it back with a different name like Magnolia slow jazz and they wouldn't say anything because it doesn't say Dixie.

Anything the gay journalists in New York don't like they seem to have the power to make it go away, because our leaders are afraid of getting cancelled. Anyone who has tried to stand up to them, starting with Anita Bryant in the 70's has lost their career, so I understand it.

I am still pissed off at them cancelling our Gator Bait cheer. Sorry arse motherfrickers.

Dayum shame that woke progressive politics can destroy traditions. We have a bunch of entitled PoS weaklings that run around trying to find something to be offended by so they can get social media credibility.

Some journalist in New York found an opinion piece written by another journalist from New York 100 years ago saying that the term Gator Bait was what they called black babies they would throw to alligators to terrorize blacks into conforming to their wishes. It's the dumbest fricking shite ever. And it doesn't even matter if that is true or not, which I doubt it is, because no one who uses the term Gator bait is even remotely referring to that scenario.

It is insane. But our bandleader was instructed to no longer play it.

Now y'all have me all fired up on an otherwise beautiful Friday morning.

Holy chit, that is fricked up. I've heard "Gator Bait" all my life and have never heard of that association or story. Dumbest thing I think I've ever heard. Journalist must have been an FSU grad

The Gator Bait shite was complete frickery. Florida should have stood up and given them a big over that.

You can literally make anything racist I guess if you try hard enough and that was the biggest reach I’ve seen yet.

Take a lesson from Bama and your governor and just learn to say “No.”.

They came for Bama twice on various issues and the admin just gave a polite firm no and it quickly passed.

Eventually they move on to the next outrage and placating the woke mob isn’t going to win you any points nationally anyway.

Amazing how a few woke stupid fricks can ruin traditions. It's just music, and players don't care, or don't know what the songs are. It's those very few lib tards that are probably not even at games who want to dictate what's played, sang, said, etc. And these traditions are gone forever.

The playbook is unimaginative and tired, but here's how it works:

- Leftist wakes up in the morning longing for something to be outraged about
- Goes through the outrage list, selects target
- Gathers 10-20 of their cult to go protest and informs media of the injustice of the day
- Media gladly jumps on the case and projects the perception that 1/2 of the country is outraged
- Administration/CEO/etc. caves under the relentless PR pressure; makes incredibly unpopular decision but the majority either remains silent or is labeled a bigot/racist/etc.
- Rinse, repeat

Great song but keep in mind the Confederacy was 100% Democrat. It was the angry cause of the day.

Understanding that has helped me laugh now that democrats are tearing down statues of democrats.

frick all of it.

It was banned cause the students refused to not yell “the south will rise again”. None of the students now would know to do that and they should just threaten to ban any student or adult that does.

Even if they did what does it matter. Do people really think the South is going to go back to agrarian economy with slave labor and secede from the Union 20+ years into the 21st century? Dumb
