LSU = 9
4 (1958, 2003, 2007 & 2019) = claimed

5 (1908, 1935, 1936, 1962, 2011) = unclaimed

*Word is, we are finally claiming 1908*

Do you like claiming old titles or think it’s lame?

Hahaha how is 2011 unclaimed? Are you just picking random years?

You lost bowl games in 35 and 36 as well. Why would you think you could seriously claim those?

They already claimed they were #2 that year and they're proud of it

Hypocritical much?

Isn't A&M the program that added two national championships from 90 years before when you joined the SEC? And two conference championships that never happened in the Big 12? One of which you didn't even win the division?

Tons of teams do this. Bama claims it for the 1964 season when they were consensus national champions despite losing the bowl game. Texas the same in 1970. Championships were earned before the bowl game for years in college football.

We could claim 3 I think, though some might say 4.

1909 we went 7-0, beat a couple of regional powers, and outscored our opponents 186-18. It is also the year we got our Razorbacks nickname.

1964 we went undefeated and beat the team that beat Bama.

1965 we were highly ranked but LSU beat us in the bowl game so I don't think that one would count.

1977 is an odd one. The top 4 teams all finished with one loss. One selector picked Arkansas, Texas, and Notre Dame to share the national title that year, probably based on us absolutely dynamiting Oklahoma in our bowl game.

I pulled directly from Wikipedia. I personally do not think 2011 is part of it. USC claims 2003 even though they didn’t even play in the BCS game.

Bro we don’t have 9 nc’s, and I dgaf about 1908. The game was in it’s infancy so who cares. We don’t need to retroactively claim titles to prop up our programs history more than what it is. If nc’s are indicative of a programs success, then 4 is right where we’re at. If we have 9, then Bama has 30, ND has 22, USC has 15, etc,etc...

And I make fun of them for it constantly even though it's no where near as bad as some of the ones you listed.

Oh yeah, who awarded it to you?

Are you going to claim that one that has like 5 or 6 "National Champions" every year because it's just some dude making shite up?

I think he meant some poll awarded LSU the title but the school doesn’t claim it obviously.

We should claim the 77 one. We barely lost to a Texas team with Earl Campbell.

We were a 20 point underdog with our best offensive players suspended. That's still the biggest upset in bowl history.

I remember watching the game on YouTube and most of the game, the commentators kept kissing up to Oklahoma. They didn't pay any attention until with 9 minutes left to play. They finally acknowledged that Arkansas existed and the game was well over.
