None of what you said changes the fact that the AP voted USC #1 in 2003. Nor does it change the fact that the President of the United States invited both teams to the White House to acknowledge them as co-national champions. No one protested this move at the time. I have team pride, and some conference pride. Aggies have both, but the conference pride usually trumps their own team because the fans know that the team has never and likely will never accomplish anything

I think you should claim every title bestowed upon your school unless there's a legit reason reason it should be removed (not somebody's opinion).

If I’m remembering this correctly... in the old days the AP poll declared a national champ before the bowl game, the UPI declared a national champ after the bowl games. Hence a split or consensus national title.
