You don't care what the schools agreed to?

You're a dumbass and there is nothing else to discuss.

None of what you said changes the fact that the AP voted USC #1 in 2003. Nor does it change the fact that the President of the United States invited both teams to the White House to acknowledge them as co-national champions. No one protested this move at the time. There were no angry op-eds from national sportswriters saying that only LSU should be acknowledged as national champions. No one really brought up the fact that this was the system that the schools agreed to because most people acknowledged by 2003 that the system was flawed. There were controversies in 1998, 2000, and 2001 with the system. So yeah, the schools agreed to the system in 1998 but everyone agreed by 2003 that the system was most definitely flawed and therefore - not the most reliable in the world.

Continue living in your delusions though. Just about everyone outside the state of Louisiana acknowledges the Trojans as co-national champions in 2003. But in the end...it's YOUR truth that matters.

It's an AP claim in the BCS era, a format all schools agreed upon.

It's as legit as the bullshite 1941 Alabama claim.

You lost bowl games in 35 and 36 as well. Why would you think you could seriously claim those?

1. You have absolutely no idea how college football worked until the ‘70’s, do you?

2. You also have no idea how many schools have been awarded championships groups other than the CFP, BCS, and AP. That’s exactly why your Ags collected a couple from a hundred years ago.

I do know that USC is the 1939 Football National Champions. Some other schools have claimed the title in error.

We should claim the 77 one. We barely lost to a Texas team with Earl Campbell

That was on the Longhorn Network the other day.

By the by, I remember watching that Orange Bowl live when you beat Oklahoma like a drum. We were very pleased in my household. Long live Roland Sales. I used to work with a backup QB on that team.

Texas am would still only have 1 from back before central air was invented.
Georgia’s last would be back before the cell phone, home computer or compact disc was in use.
Mississippi State has nothing. NOTHING.

1977 was just a weird year for football. You had a ton of great teams... who each had one loss to a great team. If ever there was a year where we needed a playoff it would have been in '77. That would have been something to see.

Wow, I've never seen such a crybaby response in my life.
quote:

I’ll never get why the unstable Big 12 with ten teams (8 of which are glorified Group of 5 teams) follows around the SEC trying to fit in. Be proud of your little conference and try supporting it.

I have team pride, and some conference pride. Aggies have both, but the conference pride usually trumps their own team because the fans know that the team has never and likely will never accomplish anything

Sorry for "infiltrating" your website (one which routinely shits on aggie fans such as yourself) and embarrassing you on another sports-related topic yet again.

I think you should claim every title bestowed upon your school unless there's a legit reason reason it should be removed (not somebody's opinion).

1973 would like a word with you!

Before the bowls:

Notre Dame 11-0-0
Alabama 11-0-0
Penn State 11-0-0
Oklahoma 10-0-1
Ohio State 9-0-1
Michigan 10-0-1

If I’m remembering this correctly... in the old days the AP poll declared a national champ before the bowl game, the UPI declared a national champ after the bowl games. Hence a split or consensus national title.

Now Georgia in 2017 on the other hand, has a legit argument. They lost on a fluke play in OT to a bama team that didn’t even win their division. Had LSU lost in 2011 in similar fashion, I would be claiming 2011. We got owned in Nola that night. No question.
A split title? Even in a playoff set up?

Back then, bowl games did not factor in to the NC. It was decided prior to, and the bowl season was extra.
