I sort of agree with this. I don't think the players should say anything. I think the next guy should get one in the ribs, and it is over with.

Samford kid was taunting and being an ahole and there should be a way for an ump to deal with that

I don't know. The kid looks pretty excited. Like was that his first home run ever? 'Cause that's kinda what it looked like.

Tenner did the same thing to Vandy in last weekend series and both teams cleared the bench after Vandy won because Tenner was taunting all game esp after a big Tenner HR. Pretty much the same baiting bs that Tenner was trying to do to LSU that whole weekend. Karma is a mfer tho(i.e. 9th inning late comeback and walk off nuke by Jones)

And fined.

Getting paid now, so acting like a jackass should hit the wallet.

I have zero problem with this IF its applied to the right scenarios. I don't want to stop celebrations when they're warranted. Just not this over the top bullshite where you're still celebrating rounding second base.

Okay, the kid is a jackass. If I were his coach, he would be benched. Respect the game and the opponent.

All that said, is there anything the umps can do? Serious question.

They have to count the run, don't they? Can they eject the player while he's running the bases? Can they eject him at all.

This one is so over the top, but I usually only see ball players ejected for actual fighting, throwing at a batter, or arguing with the ump.

Judging what’s allowed could get out of hand so you’d have to keep it simple.

Just use Gibson’s walk off against Eckersley as the guide line circling the bases. Anything more than that and you get tossed/fined.

Congrats on doing something that’s been done a bazillion times before you so just save that crap for your own dugout.

Hit in the head not the arm or leg or back, let seriously try to hurt or kill someone because you threw a beach ball down the middle

Yes the umps have extremely wide discretion to toss a player and can eject the offender even as he rounds the bases.

However, the run will still end up counting as he’ll be pinch run and THAT guy can finish rounding the bases in his stead. The unicorn statline of 1 HR, 0 R has happened.

The kid in the video above did end up getting ejected after a discussion.
