Looking at 2027 draft boards, Texas has to at minimum win the sec title or at worst be a national semi finalist. How many great players can you have with nothing to show for it but a Texas-two step miracle win over Arizona state? I realize the sec title is Meh these days but at least it would be something. They really should win the whole thing but we know they won’t

All Sark has to do is beat A&M and his job is secure. That's how it's always been, that's how it always will be. Don't believe me, look at their history.

This is the way it's gonna be for most coaches if they are coaching one of the top 5 to 10 programs with NIL being funded by huge donors. No one is gonna want to pay that kind of money for no trophies.

Texas is right where they want to be.

They get to be the media darlings without having to do anything.

From a neutral perspective, I feel like a 5 star QB, 3rd year in the system, solid 5 star WRs to throw to etc. should set up for about as good a year as you're going to get from Sark. It's hard to imagine 2027 being any better than 2026.

I've also heard complaints about line play, which gives me major 2008 Mark Richt UGA vibes. I believe that Kiffin is building a machine at LSU, will be very interested to see how the Texas-LSU game goes 11/14. Hopefully y'all don't wear black jerseys.

Any TX fans that could chime in with more specifics on team weaknesses, strengths etc.??

Which coach did we fire that was doing well but couldn't beat A&M?

Kyle Flood. Can he build an o-line that can run on a good defense? After last year, can he build an o-line that won't have Manning constantly running for his life? That's it. That's the weakness.

Weakness: Onside kicks

Weakness: Playing GA or Ohio State (5 of our 6 losses the past two years)

Weakness: The Schedule

vs Ohio State
vs Oklahoma *
@ A&M
@ LSU
@ Tennessee
vs Ole Miss
vs Florida
vs Arkansas
vs Miss State
@ Mizzou

We better be good.. cause that schedule won’t be forgiving if we’re not..

I think their offensive line has to improve to go higher. ....they were not great in the trenches.

Not necessarily wrong, this team is loaded

QB #1 overall
WR1 top 10 pick
WR2 1st rounder
LT #1 lineman
RT 1st rounder
RG 2nd rounder
Edge #1 overall defender
DT 1st rounder
MLB #1 linebacker

He has owned OU and the Aggies. Hard to fire someone who is owning your rivals

Same situation everytime people in TN discuss Heupels future “well he beats florida, holds serve with Bama, and kills Kentucky.”

Sark ain't going nowhere you nitwit.

2023 Texas was a Semi-finalist.
2024 Texas was a Semi-finalist

The team and culture has been, and is heading in the right direction, ESPECIALLY after enduring Coaches Charlie Strong and thee genius of Tom Herman. Sheesh, what a steaming pile those years were.

In addition, he and the football team are doing their part to ensure the AD has the highest revenue of any University in the country. Texas will bust the $400,000,000 revenue plateau as soon as completion of full share of SEC money this August.

This year is a very difficult football schedule, some say it's the most difficult in the country. If Texas makes the CFP playoffs it will be because of some great effort.

Man, he ain't going nowhere. BTW, you have your own coach to worry about.
