I have said from the beginning the most peak LSU scenario that could happen is the SEC boycotts playing LSU, they only manage to schedule a couple FBS teams to make up the games. LSU finishes 4-0 with a $50 million dollar roster and fail to make a bowl game.

You literally just said forfeits don’t count against the record and LSU would be 4-0 or 3-1.
They wouldn’t be excluded from bowls then you fricking mouth breather.

Maybe yes, maybe no as the SEC doesn't seem to be able to determine what is a professional. Texas does have the player that NEVER SIGNED A CONTRACT on the team however which is different than some of the other players in this Bru-Ha-Ha.

LSU will claim the wins and the SEC would have serious contract problems as the current SEC media deals are predicated on these matchups happening.

But, seriously, the four SEC schools that are scheduled to visit Baton Rouge (A&M, State, Bama, and Texas) could decide not to play with little impact on them. I don't know what the game contracts provide, but we all know from experience when LSU canceled its contract with A&M 30 years ago that there is really no remedy when a state school backs out of a contract (Mike Leach could wear you out on this subject if he was still alive). The CFP certainly isn't going to punish them for not playing, and the SEC could simply declare the games "no contest" like a covid cancellation.
ESPN would lose four game off it's inventory, but that's a drop in the bucket. They would not want to jeopardize their relationship with the SEC by making a stink over that. Besides, the drama would drive the ratings for College Gameday through the roof.
I don't think it will come to that as there is time for the federal court to take some action which might bring this to a head, but it's a viable path.

It was such a poor choice for Sankey to get on the stand yesterday. It likely was not going to make much of a difference, he was incredibly unprepared, and he ultimately hurt the SEC's position.
