This thread AGAIN? It's UNC and UVA as the Top 2 and it isn't close.

Can't we just do this twice a week in the offseason though and just wait until then?

My official answer is "anybody but Texas and OU."

Other than that I agree with this:

Just makes sense.

They would add two new markets, two big brand names, another football power with a good hoops history, and adds another basketball blue blood that has the potential to build a strong football program. All that plus UNC improves the academic reputation of the conference and while OU doesn't improve that reputation it also doesn't hurt it.

It would be a win all the way around.

UVA will join the SEC right after Notre Dame does and at the same time as the Mississippi River turns to blood.

You are just saying that since the yellow Jackets OWN that Aubbie arse :)

THIS would be my 1st choice. Like someone else said on Tulane, we have Vandy in the East

And GT DOES fit - why not bring atlanta back in as a conference game destination?

If we can't get that, anyone from NC and or VA

West Virginia and NC State are the best fits, IMO.

I think Florida State for sure, but then am torn between Miami or Texas.

Well that was a bad OP. None of those make a lick of sense.

You want teams from non-SEC states to maximize revs. So I would take UNC and UVA. Realistically I think it'll have to be NC State and VTech.

Prior to their going B1G I would have included Maryland as a 3rd option in case one of those fell through.

No I don't.

Can't you put the ledger down for just one minute and THINK for yourself about what matchups you'd like to see happening in the SEC? ...what road games you'd like to see A&M make? ..what potential for rivalries are out there that might be more fun then adding up television revenues in your head?

Just because So. Carolina is already represented in the SEC doesn't mean that Clemson wouldn't be a GREAT fit in terms of COLLEGE FOOTBALL GAMES.

But hey, let's play your game and go after Fresno State and Rutgers. Can you just IMAGINE how much fun it would be to add all the televisions in California and New Jersey to the SEC?!!!? Whoop!

good times

All up to me? VaTech and either Oklahoma or FSU. I just don't see it with UNC, but we live in crazy times.

I don't get the guy who was running down VaTech. I live in the mid-Atlantic, and I drive I-81 all the time. You see lots, and lots, of VaTech stickers in the DC metro area. Big alumni base; similar culture to Auburn, State, A&M; they recruit well in Tidewater VA, which is a serious metro area. It's a good (not great) school like Auburn and A&M. They'd add lots of value.
