Auburn basically won the second half and most of the second quarter.

Bama tried to use this after the 2005 Iron Bowl. Auburn fans laughed and laughed.

The only ppl i've seen who claim LSU went on cruise control are bammers who didn't actually even watch that game. Auburn's OL/DL wore down LSU with the tempo and pace like we've done every week. But getting behind a great team like LSU by 2-3 TDs is impossible to come back from almost.

I'll say it. I was at the game, and it was never in question. Auburn is a good team and they've proven they are as good as anybody in the West save Alabama. However, I don't think they match up well against LSU. My perspective is that the game could have been much more lopsided in favor of LSU with a dry field. You act like LSU didn't have to play on an ugly field as well where our speed advantage wasn't also taken away... I came away feeling like it wasn't as close as the score indicated. Now, Auburn is playing better now than they were then and LSU is playing worse, but I still think we win the game again and again in TS.

UTex wouldn't go for a someone with a small amount of experience as Gus IMHO. I think they'd shoot for something more stable if not more mediocre--I don't think they let go of the ball coach yet.

So this whiny belief that you should get another chance isn't something unique to UA, all sports fans in Alabama think their team should get as many chances as it takes to win.............interesting.

Should we step over to Tiger Rant and check out all the mitigating reasons for losing to OM or UGA or why Furman kept it so close for a significant portion of the game

Auburn nips a team with a high school defense in a shootout, and now the fans are thumping their chests wanting a redo of a game where they trailed by double digits for the duration of it.

Texas A&M was down by double digits and nearly three TDs with 8 minutes to go. They scored with 15 seconds to go to make it a one TD game and you would think the only reason they lost was because they ran out of time.

Even losing 35-21, take away a few plays, and we win. Easily could have scored at the end of the game by running it in but had to try to pass it in since we were down by two scores and had to save as much of the clock as possible.

I'm sure most teams could use this logic and turn a 7-5 season into a 13-0 season.

And you ran A&M and Ole Miss right out of the stadium right? One or two plays go different and you still win right?

Why people keep referencing the Ole Miss-Auburn game like it was the MSU-Auburn game is beyond me. Ole Miss was in the game until the end, but Auburn controlled it throughout. It was a lot closer to a multi-score Auburn win than it was an Ole Miss win.

Nope, they have no hope if getting the man they want, Sabin. Why not take a chance on a guy like Gus. Young energetic coach who has brought Au back to the pinnacle of CFB in only one short season. In fact, the Saban talk is only a REC masterminded smoke screen for them and their plans to snatch Gus right out from Au's noses.

Signed,

Sincerely scared of Gus Bammer fan.

Sounds like he "misremembered". He was probably thinking of when it was 42-28 with about 9 minutes to go and Bama had the ball on the 2 yard line with a chance to go up by 3 TDs before the Yeldon fumble.

That said, A&M never had the ball in the 2nd half with a chance to tie or take the lead. That game was never in doubt in the 2nd half. That's how he should have phrased it.

Mitigating reasons? Most of them chalk it up to incompetent coaching of dline and secondary, and sub-par recruiting at the linebacker position.

My opinion is the defense has too much inexperience at key positions. They should be better next year, although we will be breaking in a new starter at QB.
