Smart thinking of LSU to suck so bad they don't contribute to Alabama's GOAT season argument.

When Saban said "make his arse quite" I didn't think you guys would do it before the game.

We can't help it your coach is a coward.

There's something to be said about a 10-SEC game schedule. That's never been done before. IF we win out--and that's a big IF, because 1) I'm not sure we've seen a dominant defense, and 2) Our defense is definitely not dominant--then it is a legitimate championship. GOAT? Whatever. Maybe not. But I'll sure take the hardware.

Nah, not even close to GOAT. Bad defense, COVID decimated opponents, no away crowds.

13 Power 5 wins. In a row. During a pandemic? Yeah no question: GOAT.

Single-season record (AP poll era) of 726 points scored.

All time great accomplishment

Awards won by players and coaches include the Heisman, Maxwell, Walter Camp, Davey O’Brien, Biletnikoff, Thorpe, Broyles along with multiple Coach of the Year honors for Orgeron.

Only 1 of those outside the millions that JB received was deserved. PJ Fleck took a bottom feeder Minnesota squad and turned them into a 11-2 (tied first in division) team in 2019. Ed Orgeron basically just got over the hump to do what the usual SEC champ does most years. The same year, Chase had a combined 4 touchdowns against Alabama, Auburn, Oklahoma, Clemson and Georgia....huh? His YPC was high but his combined yardage against all 5 leveled out to be pretty average...with Clemson giving him a large final boost to his stats. In essence, for a QB that threw for 6000 yards and played 3 cupcakes in the first 4 games of the year, he should’ve had way larger stats than he did. Roughly about as much as Derrick Henry had rushing yards in 2015.

Never trailed in the fourth quarter.

Cool. Plenty of teams have done that in the past.

Defeated a record seven AP top-10 teams, including going 4-0 against top-5 teams.

All time great stuff.

Only team ever to beat entire AP preseason top 4.

Irrelevant. This is that Bama type shite you LSU fans love to go on about like a bunch of broken records.

quote:

Defeated Clemson, Oklahoma, Alabama, Florida and Georgia by an average margin of 19.6 points. Those five teams posted a combined 60-4 record against non-LSU opponents.

That’s nice and all but you also only beat Auburn and Alabama by a combined 8 points and let a 3-9 Vanderbilt and barely ranked Texas squad score 38 points each on your defense.

Nebraska 1995 for instance never scored less than 35 that whole year and never gave up more than 28. Ironically the one team that was the “closest to beating them” was a 3-8 Washington State team.

I’m not discrediting what LSU did in 2019 (well, yeah I am, some of the awards LSU won were strictly because of the spotlight and QB they had) but it’s not by any means head and shoulders above some teams in the past, just because they played some extra games.

If they go 13-0, they will win playoff.

Not sure this year’s defense is the caliber that Saban would label “best of all time.”

The offense is diverse and probably the best Saban has had. They’ve had many weapons over the years, but this year it seems like they can produce touchdowns from any position on the field with any sort of emphasis.

All of that said, they would be in the rare air of undefeated teams so I would put them in conversation.

If it ends up looking better than that LSU season. Then yes.

Until then, that up there is the best ever.

Lol, no. All P5 teams are not good teams. LSU beat 5 top 10 teams in the same year. It’s not even close.
