We lose 13 starters....it takes an extreme amount of luck to win a NC. Personally I would be VERY happy with 10-2...anything less than that would be a disppointment.

The funny thing is Alabama is rebuilding both the OL and DL, much of the secondary, and a new kicker; A&M is losing the best LT in the game and an incredible receiver in Swope...yet everyone seems to assume everything is the same and this will be a match between Manziel's arm and Saban's coaching.

I have a feeling this game will go completely differently than people expect.

But for the most part, his point stands, if we are going to run an offense so dependent on QB play, our recruiting grounds are ideal for such a philosophy.

Yes, all you have to do is look at your big brother too see this isn't true.

JFF will leave after his soph. year (this coming year). If A&M doesn't win it all, JFF will leave due to the embarrassment of leading the greatest choke job in college football history.

Johnny has already said he isn't leaving A&M until he wins a National Title. If we don't win it in 2013, Johnny comes back to a team that will lose very few starters and be a favorite to win it in 2014.

Your offensive system sucked without Keenum.

Houston lost both Keenum and their 2nd string QB in the same game. They were playing that season with their 4th string QB, who I believe was a freshman, because their 3rd string was having issues. Is spite of that, the offense still put up huge numbers, even if their record doesn't reflect it.

He plans on becoming a professional student?

Seems like a wasted life.

The only thing they can actually do to stop Johnny Fooball is to put 12 guys on the field. Other than that he is simply more talented than your defense. Deal with it.

Will he make some big plays? Absolutely. Are we good enough to limit those big plays enough to go in to Kyle Field and win by 14+ points? Absofrickinglutely

is it September yet??

Clearly I should have specified that won't consider leaving EARLY unless we win a National Title.

While I want to believe this, I don't see Johnny not leaving for the NFL as early as possible. Given a high draft grade, and a weak QB class, he is gone. He is too much of a competitor not to. A guy like that wants to be an NFL superstar. Hopefully for the Dallas Cowboys.

We lose 13 starters

Where does everyone get the number 13 from?

I only count 11:

Swope
Nwachukwu
McNeal
Joeckel
Lewis
Moore
Nealy
Stewart
Porter
Terrell
Epperson

Why everyone counts Steven Campbell and Dustin Harris as starters I will never know.

Going a little more in depth:

QB - Manziel started every game (13 starts return)
HB - Malena started 9 games, Michael 2, 5 WR started in the other 2 games (9 starts return)
WR/TE - Evans and Nwachukwu started every game, Swope started 12, McNeal started 7, Kennedy started 3, Lamothe started 3, Johnson started 2, Hicks started 1 (17 starts return - 1 starter equivalent)
OL - Joeckel, Harrison, Lewis, Ogbuehi, and Matthews started every game (39 starts return)
DE - Moore started every game, Obioha started 12 games, Williams started 1 (13 starts return)
DT - Ennis started 11 games, Nealy started 13 (11 starts return)
LB - Porter started all 13 games, Stewart started all 13 games, Jenkins started 10, Baggs started 1 (11 starts return)
DB - Terrell started all 13 games, Everett started 12 games, Dustin Harris started 9 games, Toney Hurd started 7 games, Devante Harris started 7 games, Howard Matthews started 5 games, Tramaine Jacobs started 2 games, Steven Campbell started 2 games (33 starts return)
P - Epperson started all 13
K - Bertolet started all 13

The number of total equivalent starters we return is (rounded by position):

QB - 1
HB - 1
WR/TE - 1
OL - 3
DE - 1
DT - 1
LB - 1
DB - 3
P - 0
K - 1

That's 13/24 starters returning, not 11/24.

Wouldn't know anything about this, Arkansas takes coaches from the NFL during the season, twice.
Lest we forget, Arkansas also dumspter dives for Weber State head coaches.
